Admissions at Lincoln Center

Has anyone seen it? Considering getting a ticket, but haven't heard anything.

Admissions at Lincoln Center

Four of us saw it Saturday night. We all gave it a thumbs up. Collectively we have probably been going to the theater for 150 years. Brought out some interesting and relevant topics. My only complaint is the arc of a one act play ( which this is) is usually not as satisfying IMHO as a 2 or 3 act play. I think the 2 act play format worked brilliantly in Hangmen.

Reviews are up for Joshua Harmon's Admissions. Most are positive but the negative ones are interesting to read. Sara Holdren at Vulture is upset that the audience is asked to side with the racist characters. It's hard to trust satire in 2018.

"Harmon is walking a dangerous line: He’s trying to point out hypocrisy, but he’s risking confirmation bias."

I miss when posters on here would describe a show like professional reviewers do. Like Whizzer still does with new Broadway shows, but we don't see much here with off-broadway anymore. Now we all seem to rely on Show Score, yet every member review there wasn't adequate enough to get me interested in this. Now after reading the professional reviews to get a better sense of what the play is about I actually want to see it. But now it's too late because linctix are already sold out. Sure didn't help them sending that "linctix are almost sold out!" email a few days ago to attract all the FOMO impulse buyers. Ugh, hoping for an extension.

I saw this over the weekend and thought it was interesting and worthwhile. I always say that plays make me think, and this one certainly did. Not sure exactly what I took away from it, though, but that's not unusual. It was great to see Jessica Hecht on stage. Ben Edelman was excellent as the high school son. He had some great, very funny and emotional scenes. It was 1 hour, 45 minutes with no intermission. The seat at the Mitzi E. Newhouse are all really good.

I also saw Hangmen and Lobby Hero this weekend. All different plays, but if I had to rank them, I would say Hangmen was the best, then Lobby Hero (though the set was so blah and I got tired of looking at it) and then Admissions. I loved Oslo, and wasn't excited about Junk, but it was interesting enough. I think a lot also depends on how tired I am, what other shows I have seen that day, and how hungry I am at the time .

Considering rushing this this weekend. Does anyone know the rest policy? Had any experiences with it?
