Hello BWW! I hope some of you will be able to join me for my solo show at 54 Below this February. 25% of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Autism Self Advocacy Network! So excited to be presenting this. Even if you can't make it, spread the word! The Facebook event is HERE.

"Amanda DeLalla makes her Feinstein’s/54 Below debut in Alone in the Woods. You’ve seen Sondheim’s masterpiece performed by a cast of 18 and a cast of 10…now see it done by a cast of one. Featuring an abridged version of the book and score, Amanda simultaneously tells the fairytales’ story and her own: as an artist with Asperger’s. Along with special guests, see Into the Woods as never before and contribute to the cause of autism acceptance."

Just curious, Annie. How did you manage to get the rights to do this? Did you have to perform the show for Sondheim (or his reps)? Or send them a tape? Seems like it would be especially hard to get the rights to do a new adaptation of INTO THE WOODS in such a high profile venue in NYC. Good luck!

Hi Minnie, it's not a new adaptation of the full show ala Fiasco Theater. It is selections from the score interspersed with dialogue based on the book scenes. I had pitched the idea to 54 Below's programming department and they gave me the green light a few weeks ago.

UPDATE!

"Alone in the Woods" is a BroadwayBox EDITOR'S PICK for the month of February, as part of their Sondheim trio of recommendations. Right up there with Sweeney Todd and Sunday in the Park with George!

Also, a reviewer from NYTheatreGuide will be in attendance at the show, so I want as good of a turnout as I can get! Time is running out to get the best price for your tickets (we're on both Audience Rewards and Goldstar).

Hi everyone! :)

Just dropping a quick note to say that if you missed me at F/54, I'll be performing in a smaller cabaret event on April 4th, 7pm, at Don't Tell Mama. The Emcee of this showcase saw a video from the other show and invited me to perform on this night.

I'll be singing a two-song set that surrounds a theme. No Sondheim this time around, but I'll give you a hint: it still has something to do with what people wish for.

Ado takes the stage again, this time at the Dixon Place Lounge on June 16th at 7:30pm!

In collaboration with Dark Matter Productions' "Hearts on the Wall" residency, I will be previewing a snippet of the new one-woman show I'm trying to put together. Will it crystallize? Will it fail miserably? Come and find out.

In addition, you may see some graphic design work by a notable BWW forum member on the program sheet!

What do Phillipa Soo, a plush cat, and Stephen Sondheim all have in common? You'll have to come to the Dixon Place Lounge on Friday at 7:30pm to find out. The graphic for my piece (to be seen on the program) was put together by our own Mr. Nowack! Hope to see you there...admission is free!
