Hey everyone
I'me heading over from the UK with some friends at the end of May and planning in taking in some musicals (at least 3/4). I was thinking definitely of Hair and 9 to 5. Are there any other must sees on Broadway that anyone could recommend?
I had looked at Next to Normal but a bit worried it would be too depressing - any advice or help appreciated!!
Thanks
Definitely check out Next to Normal and West Side Story.

Next to Normal is a must see. I wouldn't say depressing as such but no, it's not a feel-good musical. It is incredible though and I'd strongly advise you to consider it!
It's a sad story of struggle, but not depressing. It will, however make you think. Thinking is an underrated thing when it comes to musicals.
I would reccommend: 9 to 5; HAIR; N2N; and Billy Elliot (if you haven't seen it.)
next to normal. Powerful and emotionally moving do not have to equal depressing. It is EXCELLENT. Check it out!
Next to Normal or Hair, definitely.

If you want to have a really "fun" evening of theatre, check out Shrek. Don't listen to the nay sayers; it's a totally enjoyable evening.
