Two performances of Aesop's Fables, a new musical for children, will be presented March 20-21 at 10 AM at Circle in the Square Theatre, which is currently home to the revival of The Miracle Worker.
The new musical features a mix of classic Aesop tales, including "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," "The Hare and the Tortoise," "The Fox and the Crow" and "The Lion and the Mouse."
Aesop's Fables was penned by Joziah Longo (music & lyrics) and Michael Milligan (book). Theodore Mann directs.
The musical was created with Circle in the Square Theatre School (CITSTS), which was founded in 1963 and is a two-year acting and music program attended by college and university graduates from around the world. Among its alumni are Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Bacon, Idina Menzel, Benicio Del Toro and Kristen Johnson.
Circle in the Square Theatre is located in Manhattan at 50th Street and Broadway. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children; for reservations call (212) 307-0388.
That sounds fun!

I hope it's more interesting than Metamorphoses was...
which is to say, I hope it is at least minimally interesting...
So, wait, does this count as Broadway musical, since it's in a Broadway house? How does that work?
No. It's just like any one night or two night even that uses a Broadway space. The Duran Duran concerts from last year at the Barrymore come to mind.
The Duran Duran concerts never opened because of the strike, but if they had, they'd be considered a Broadway show. That was their whole thing: Duran Duran on Broadway.
In fact, most one-night concerts that are in a Broadway theater are considered a Broadway show. (Going by the Internet Broadway Database, which is maintained by the Broadway League, and they should know.)
Note: I don't mean Tony-eligible. That's a very different thing.
Looking at the ticket prices, I can't imagine this will be an equity performance of any kind. Since it is their SCHOOL performing it (or so it seems) I'm sure there is some agreement.
No, a Broadway show is something that has an opening night and it reviewed by the theatre critics of the press. 24-Hour plays, mandy patinkin's one night stint, and those other things that happen only briefly are not considered broadway shows, whether or not they appear on ibdb.
