Wait...the Henrik in the NYCO production is a DIFFERENT Kevin Anderson??? This blowing my mind. At least on YouTube, it looks like the more well known one. I guess that explains his surprisingly operatic voice!

Kevin Paul Anderson is in the DVD of Bernstein's Mass at Vatican City. His voice almost literally explodes while attempting to sing a very high section of his number. It's quite painful, one of the worst "recorded for posterity" moments I've ever seen. Just having a bad day I'm sure, he did sing beautifully in "Night Music", but a shame to have THAT preserved!

That may explain why he's not well-known any more (or ever!)

Kevin Anderson, the Steppenwolf actor who also sings, was in that awful "BRKLN" (whatever) musical.
In 1981, I saw him play JFK in the musical "One Shining Moment" at the Drury Lane Water Tower Theater in Chicago. The concept of the show was a group of college kids putting ona show about the Kennedys. Megan Mullaly was Jackie, and Alan Ruck was LBJ.
Also, the actor Kevin Anderson is in DETROIT, the play with Laurie Metcalf that's supposedly coming to Broadway this season.

There's something about the NYCO A Little Night Music that always puts me off--maybe it's the huge empty stage (how I wish we had footage of Aronson's sliding birch trees in action), but George Lee Andrews *is* note perfect in it (and it's great that we have a recording, thanks to the "Scrabble Album" of him singing Silly People from the original production even if it was cut out of town).
I know Hal Prince spoke a while back about keeping it fresh by switching up the actors who played Firmin and Andre--does anyone know, out of curiousity, which years Andrews played who?
