The Black Rider was one of the oddest shows I'd ever seen. So many people walked out! My friend and I enjoyed it for what it was... but it was so odd...
Any shows that might do a pre-Broadway run? I wouldn't be surprised if they got Matthew Bourne's Cinderella either.

The Black Rider remains the only show I've ever walked out of w/o waiting for intermission and we weren't the first. There has only been a handful I've ever left at Intermission. I just learned to turn my tickets back to the box office for a tax deduction when the Ahmanson did Shakespeare with Peter Hall for it seemed like five seasons running (I really don't miss Gordon)
Opening Night did not have any noticeable walkout during the show proper, but LOTS of people left between the main show and the encore and when the curtain came back up, they kept walking.
Personally having seen the show in NYC with BJA, I loved seeing it again and have tickets to go back in two weeks with friends.
Not a surprise but they announced "Anything Goes" for the new season today in the Fall.

I'm more excited for the news that Jonathan Groff is going to be in "Red" with Alfred Molina. Can't wait till I see it with them on August 26th!
Anything Goes was announced about eight weeks ago

With the announcement of the Cinderella leads and CTG as a producer, it seems safe to assume that Cinderella will be playing the Ahmanson pre-Broadway
That would be REALLY cool...
and cannot wait for Jonathan Groff in RED over at The Taper
YES! Jonathan Groff at the Taper is highly exciting!
I'm guessing THE NORMAL HEART will be booked at The Ahmanson...and hoping for some stellar casting
I'd imagine the season to be:
Cinderella
The Normal Heart
Anything Goes - already announced
and that leaves room for a show or two for CTG to produce...
Unless there is a major win at The Tonys and some show announces a tour quickly
The Taper has kind of sucked eggs since the renovation, hasn't it? Looking forward to seeing something there that I love again.
Really? I've liked most of what I've seen at the Taper in the past few years far more than I've liked what I've seen at the Ahmanson. This current season has been somewhat disappointing thus far (didn't particularly care for the Rebeck play and I won't even try with Godot-I hate that show). But, last year their production of "Bengal Tiger" was stellar. So much so that it went to Broadway, sadly without Kevin Tighe. And I don't know if you saw "Lydia" the year before but that was possibly the best production I've ever seen at the Taper.
Was waiting to see who would be the other cast member of Red, looking forward to seeing it .
Does anyone know when the ill season will be announced?

Red has Alfred Molina and Jonathan Groff
I do agree about the past shows from the Taper sucking. Conversations with my Father was a complete bore, it has reduced John Lithgow into a joke between me and my friends.
Someone.elses.story -- BENGAL was the only show I've seen there since the renovation that I 'kinda liked'. I thought it was 'okay' -- not great.
I saw LYDIA and thought it was a train wreck.
CLYBOURNE PARK? Meh. Fine, but not great.
I think the Taper is ruined for me because I saw THE GOAT there, and it remains the best play I've ever seen. Now I just constantly leave disappointed!
I wish GOOD PEOPLE had been at the Taper, since I loved it.
