Since a cast album was released for Aladdin on Broadway, do you think one could be recorded for the London cast?

Hard to say. Beauty and the Beast is the only Disney show to receive both a Broadway and London cast album. All the others received only one -- either Broadway or London. I'd guess the odds are slim.

I enjoyed the recent Tokyo recording! I don't speak Japanese but I thought it was better than the Broadway.

Actually, Mary Poppins got an Australian cast recording, surprisingly (we don't get too many). I believe it was a live recording done over a few shows.

^im pretty sure the Australian prod. of mary poppins got a recording, because it opened after they made numerous adjustments to the show and score. So this cast recording is usually used for rehearsal tracks in regional and amateur productions.

I was also only referring to Broadway and London cast albums. I'm well aware that the Australian cast recorded Mary Poppins but I suspect Cameron Mackintosh had a lot to do with that. Plus they needed a recording of the revised score with the new song for licensing. Aladdin hasn't changed. At least so far.

I thought the same about the Japanese recording of The Little Mermaid. Good job to the Japanese, I guess!
