Okay, for those of you who saw The Producers with Alan Ruck and Richard Kind in it, I have a question. Can they sing good? I know they can act because I've seen them on Spin City and in movies. I'm just wondering.

Do you mean, "can they sing well?"

Eh, they're okay. As far as the singing, I'd say Alan is better, but they can both pull it off okay.

Richard Kind was amazing...I saw the show just shortly after Alan left (replaced by Roger Bart). Richard is a great stage actor and I personally thought his singing was perfect for the role...I mean its a role that doesnt require you to sound like Emile from South Pacific..I thought he was perfect for the role

P.S. (I am overjoyed that Gary Beach is coming back next week!!!)

I saw the 2 of them the week before they left and I enjoyed the show immensly. I thought that for the characters they were playing the acted and sang each one quite well.

There was a woman cackaling at everything in the orchestra section that made them break character every other scene. Thats some of the fun of live theatre though.

You learn to play the straight man, the lines become routine - never really saying what you mean - but i know the scene will change :)

I think Richard Kind sang surprisingly well, I really liked his Max. Alan, not so much of a singer. More of a talk-singing thing.

I saw Richard twice - both times with Roger, not Alan. The first time I left thinking his singing was "good" but the second time he really impressed me. He did a great job as Max, and this is coming from someone who's seen Nathan and Brad too. re: Alan Ruck and Richard Kind
