Did anyone see her opening night? I'm interested to know how she did.

What I found incredibly sweet was that Diana DeGarmo was in the audience cheering her on. Alexa has some big shoes to fill.

Diana is just such a classy girl. And i agree ABoy, she does have some F'n huge shoes to fill, she will always be the best penny. We need to see that girl in Green (if ya know what i mean)

I hope she was good.
She looks cute in Penny-mode.

diana is my 2nd favorite penny but extremely close to kerry butler. I need her to come back to broadway. Like broadwayjoe476 said "we need to see that girl in green"!

Not trying to be mean, but I heard that she was horrible in the role! The reviewer said that she can't sing and flubbed many lines. Hopefully, she gets a lot better!

I've only seen Diana and Tracy Miller.
I liked Tracy Miller, but Diana is my favorite.

It was only her first night on, she'll probably get better as the weeks progress.

Alexa is kind of in a no-win situation because there's no way she'll be able to sing like Diana. There's going to be a noticeable drop off simply because Diana is one of the best and most powerful singers around. Diana also proved to be a very good comedic actress. Alexa has big, big shoes to fill given Diana has gotten recognition from many as one of the two best actresses to play the role. I wish Alexa well and "awwww" to Diana coming out to support and cheer her on.

hmmm. i'm seeing Hairspray for the 5th time on Saturday mainly cause I'm curious about Ashley Parker Angel. I'm not looking foward to seeing Alexa! I've only seen the show with Diana and I don't think anyone can beat her.

Isn't Kerry Butler playing Ariel in The Little Mermaid?...If so part of your wish is coming true! But who knows? And speaking of shoes...is saw them making Alexa's shoes the other day at a shoe repair store it was pretty cool! And I do hope she does well

Diana DeGarmo is a VERY classy lady. Has anyone else ever gone to their replacement's first night and led the standing ovation? Maybe, but it's absolutely an awesome thing to do. :3

I'm interested to hear reviews of Alexa's performance. I was bothered a bit when she stated in her Q&A video that she had never done theatre before (if I remember correctly), but I'm sure she'll be great.

There is a video on that 'site we cant mention' of Alexa backstage at Hairspray (during velmas revenge) talking about how she messed up a lil. I believe this is from her opening night. may be.


She seems to make many of these video blogs.
