Though we ALL know that there is only ONE Margo Channing, Tovah should make for an adequate substitute Jackie Hoffman should be a scream as Birdie.
And could someone please tell why on earth the talent-impaired Tamara Tunie must be cast in EVERY benefit concert? Who is her agent?
Tix start at $300, so break open those piggy banks kids .....
From Playbill.com:
"Job commitments for Kate Burton and Kerry O'Malley have prompted some casting changes for Melting Pot Theatre Company's benefit reading of the 1951 "Lux Radio Theatre" adaptation of "All About Eve" in Manhattan.
Tovah Feldshuh will play Margo Channing and Jennifer Rae Beck will be Eve Harrington in the Nov. 7 presentation of the radio script that was based on the film written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz.
Also performing at Barrow Street Theatre will be Gregg Edelman as Bill Sampson, Tamara Tunie as Karen, David Odgen Stiers as Lloyd, Jonathan Hadary as Addison Dewitt, Jackie Hoffman as Birdie, Christine Pedi as Libby Collins (Hollywood gossip columnist), Emily Skinner as Ms. Caswell (aspiring star), Adam Heller as John Milton Kennedy (announcer), Patrick Quinn as William Keighley (producer) and Fred Newman providing live sound effects. Greg Carter and Suzann Hevner are the "Harmoneers" (jingle singers), with Vanessa A. Jones as featured singer."

Oh I wish I could go...
"Though we ALL know that there is only ONE Margo Channing..."
I believe there are TWO...
Both are brilliant, though I read one's thoughts daily...
Shame I can't attend this particular "bumby night" but it looks like it'll be a blast
Oh, I wish I could go too. Tovah is very close with some dear family friends of ours (she's actually their children's godmother) and a lovely lady all around.
I'm sorry...I adore Tovah, but I cannot see her as Margo Channing at all. Kate Burton was the ideal choice for me, and I'm sorry to see that she has dropped it.
Are you kidding, meffie??
No, darling, I'm being completely serious. Nothing about Tovah screams out "Margo material" to me.
I couldn't disagree more. Respectfully, of course.

I dont see it. If I am not mistaken, margo channing is bette davis and her and tovah look pretty unalike to me
Margo's back!
Isn't she marvelous?
Isn't she wonderful?

Nobody can top Thelma Ritter. Whatever happened to character actresses? They are a dying breed.
Marjorie Main
Jean Stapleton
Ellen Corby
i betcha tovah will be great. she is a real beyotch, truth be told. tamara tunie is well thought of...although not by margo. a friend of mine just cast her in an indy film w/ bj crosby. (her performance in julius ceasar was pretty forgettable. i can't remember seeing her in another show although i know i must have)
Tamara Tunie is a bit blah for me. Her voice is also incredibly pitchy, and her Calpurnia was execrable.
I've always liked her on LAW AND ORDER, though...

Thelma Ritter is a deserved legend, but if ANYBODY today can do the part justice, it's Jackie Hoffman.
i can get enough of jackie, although i'm sure she'll be fun with tovah. i was hoping julie halston would be involved with this. she has such style.
