Hello Ladies and Gents,
I attended a lovely preview for All Aboout Me at the new (and fabulous) Henry Miller's Theatre this afternoon. Have to say, if you haven't been to the theatre itself, that is a reason to go see this show, but the show is quite entertaining and comical. I especially liked the brilliant tune "The Dingo Ate My Baby" and viewing Dame Edna rap out towards the middle of the show.It is 90 minutes and if you are a Michael Feinstein fan and love a good American Songbook review-this is a must see. I have never heard people laugh so hard. What a great, short, and entertaining production. Another wonderful moment is the overture which is .......spoiler.........a mix of popular musical theatre tunes. Jodi Capless as the "Stage Manager" is quite funny as well and what a voice! (If you ever saw her years ago in Les Miserables you will appreciate her in this). Well don't want to give to much away..go see it and watch out for the Gladdy flowers!
"and if you are a Michael Feinstein fan and love a good American Songbook review-this is a must see."
Yeah, the problem is that I do like a good review every once in a while but not in the middle of a comedy show. I'm going to see THE CRAZIES tomorrow and if they interrupt it with footage from PRINCESS AND THE FROG, I'm going to be pissed. Same thing.
Love Edna to death but this show is a hot tranny mess with no hopes of salvation unless Matthew Finkelstein bows out gracefully and leaves the Dame to do what she does best ALONE.

Good question. In this case, the tranny mess in question is not a good thing.

So you are applying it literally? As in he's a tranny and the show is a mess? Because I've always heard it rather complementary as in "Oh, girl! That dress is a hot tranny mess!"
I don't pretend to understand it. But that's how I've heard it used.
Well damn, now I'm confusified (as G(uh)Linda would say.
