from BWW: "According to the Broadway League: As a result of the travel restrictions put in place by government authorities and additional safety precautions implemented due to severe weather, all Broadway performances tonight will be cancelled. Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of The Broadway League, stated, "Now that the storm has arrived, I'd like to reiterate that the safety and security of theatregoers and employees is everyone's primary concern. As a result of the 11:00pm travel ban and other travel restrictions and safety precautions implemented by government authorities on behalf of the winter storm, evening performances will be cancelled tonight. We will send out an official notice with information about tomorrow's performances as soon as possible, or no later than 6:00pm today."
For information about exchanges, theatregoers should contact their point of purchase. Check Broadway.org for updates.". Wow, things must be really bad. When has this happened before? Stay warm and be safe y'all.
which only affects Phantom, Chicago & Mamma Mia! Tomorrow will be another story.
from Playbill.com The article mentions that the Weisslers offered their "Chicago" cast a hotel room if they would have difficulty returning for the Tuesday, Jan. 27th performance. Wow. That's a nice gesture.
Playbill
A nice gesture, but still a push for them to perform during or immediately after one of the most dangerous and potentially devastating blizzards New York has seen in years. Just cancel tomorrow. Not worth it when safety is at risk for employees, performers or patrons.

Did the Weisslers offer the same courtesy to every non-actor who has to commute to work? Like the FOH staff, crew, etc. wouldn't have the same issues?
Great point, ZannaDo. The weather is horrendous.

Yes it is but it is a standard thing most companies will do for employees if they need them at work. I work in a 24x7 365 environment and last year we got put up in a hotel room for 2 days due to a snowstorm.

And it's Phantom's 27th 'birthday' and they won't have a show.
Poor Phantom. ^
By the time you're 27, you don't care if your birthday is celebrated on the exact day.
It's ok, they didn't celebrate their 10,000th show at the actual time either. I wonder if they'll bring in Sierra tomorrow. *snort*
