The director of "All My Sons" - Simon McBurney - happens to be one of my favorite actors in addition to being a reputedly excellent director.
Does anyone know if he is in the audience watching the show? I was considering mailing my DVD sleeve of a favorite movie to the theater in the hopes he would sign it, but if I go to the show this week perhaps I could avoid mailing it and ask him to do it in person.

You're better off mailing it to the stage door.
But mail it soon, the show closes in a week.

FYI - Typically, the director's last day with a production is on Opening Night. After that, he turns the production over to the production stage manager.
Which is not to say that they don't come back to revisit. Which is not to say that they don't come back to revisit often. Arthur Laurents has been back to GYPSY several times (at least during the City Center run and the first couple months of the Broadway run).
