I haven't seen the show yet, but i've listened to the soundtrack and it's quite good. I was wondering how the show is and how the cast on the tour? Because i want to see it on tour!
Thanks!
oh dear
1st off...I hate to be the one who says it but before the vultures come down on you, All Shook Up has a cast recording not a Soundtrack. The show is no longer on Broadway but will start touring in September I think and they just announced the cast. It's full of relativley unknowns which might mean that they are amazing. We don't know...it hasn't started yet.
I know i want to see the show on tour, but I was wondering if it was any good.
in defense of "soundtrack" this is the catagory that it falls in no matter where you purchase it, online or in stores, or evn on i-tunes.
so to everyone who feels the need to correct it, please direct all comments to the places that catagorize it as such.
yeah I was just letting renthead know that if you say soundtrack on here someone is going to flip on you. and not all stores group cast recordings and soundtracks together
renthead- it's good I saw it in chicago while it was doing it's out of town run and while it's by no means moving theater it's a fun night. You'll laugh and tap your toes. Go see it if you like the CD. It has a fresh young cast and it's a good time
I saw the show on Broadway, and I loved it. It's a very fun feel good show to go to. It's like Shakespeare meets Elvis.

Not a fan of the jukebox musical but I have to say, the vocal arrangements are amazing, the book was funny and there was a ton of talent up there. It's the same Creative team, albeit not the same cast, but I would expect the tour to be at least as entertaining as the Broadway production

I love this show! I saw it twice when it was on Broadway and I think it compares to Hairspray. It's very enjoyable and cute.
Rehearsals are going GREAT and it's a very talented cast. Lots of fun and laughter. Susan Anton is Miss Sandra and will be a hoot in the role! There have been a few changes from the Bway company but all for the better. All the original designers and creatives are putting the tour together so you can be assured any changes were warrented.
Come out and see it!!!

Yes my friend Natasha Yvette Williams is playing the role of the mother, the same role that Sharon Wilkins played on Broadway. The show is very energetic and I had a lot of fun, I think that it would have done better if it wasn't in such a big theater. I think that it will do well on tour.
NaTasha is WONDERFUL! And the rest of the cast is equally talented! Hope you get to see it.
I love the cast recording and also want to see it on tour.

I adore ALL SHOOK UP, its one of my favorite musicals ever.
The 1st I ever sat front row for and the OBC was amazing, I loved them- Jenn and Cheyenne were amazing {note my love of them in my signature and avatar.}.
I'm exicted to see what the tour cast brings to the show. What kind of changes are instore, may I ask?
I've heard about many of the changes and am quite concerned! I have tickets to see it in Boston and will see it in Ft Lauderdale, I hope I love it as much as I did on Broadway!

Quite concerned about changes to a jukebox musical? Its a fun piece of fluff ,not rocket science. They haven't compromised the show at all...
The changes I have heard about sound very bizarre to me. I saw the show many, many times, and though I am looking forward to seeing it on tour, a new cast will be strange to see, let alone changes to the dialogue, song order, etc.

The 2 changes to the song order are an improvement. Jailhouse rock now opens the show as a part of the plot as opposed to a "fantasy number". The only other change in order is Devil in Disguise to Act 2 giving it a better "show stopper" placement, and adding to the mayor's progression...

wait, so does Chad break out of jail or something?
i understand the "Devil in Disguise" placement though...

Liotte, trust me when I say you will NOT be disappointed when you see the new cast or the new version. Rather than look at it as "changed" looked at it more like they finally got it the way it should have been on Bway. That way you might not be in such a panic....and everything friedrich said is correct.
I'd already heard about those changes. I am excited to see the show, I love seeing different productions of shows and am rarely disappointed.

I saw All Shook Up on Bway and it has confounded me to this day. Fantastic cast, it sounded amazing, it looked amazing but it was the most obsurd plot, dialogue, etc that I've ever seen in the theater. It was august and the show must have been on the downhill slope because the Palace was only half full if that and I thought, "this show's days are numbered." And, of course, it closed sometime areound the first week of september like many shows do that time of year. Anyway, I'm glad it's going on tour, maybe it will make back the investment. Clearly Jen Gambatese isn't going to be in it and I doubt any of the leads. For that matter, it will probably be an entirely new cast. Anway, it was obsurd and more than once I found myself saying out loud in disbelief, "WHAT!? NO! OH, NO!!!!!" Then I would put my head in my hands. YES, it was that bad.
