In the newspaper today, it announced that All Shook Up was no longer touring in the 07-08 season. I really wanted to see this show too.
Link?
And it was never intended to go past the end of June/beginning of July anyway.

Um, it was in the newspaper here in Birmingham, AL today. I think it was an associated press type article.
And apparently it was because it was scheduled to play Birmingham next April.

Yeah, it was supposed to come to the Fox in Atlanta April 24-29.
Color me confused:

But hey, it's playing in Korea!

Wait--so is it still going to be in Ft. Worth, TX in like May?

Parks-
Probably. It takes a LOT to get out of a contract of ANY form with the Bass family. They make some of the things David Merrick did look like nothing.

yay. That's the one show I really wanted to see at Bass Hall this season.

I. Hate. Bass. Hall.
And. Denton. Yockey.
And. The. Bass. Family.
In all seriousness, unless the Bass Family or their lapdog Denton think it's gonna tank, or ticket sales aren't good, etc, the show will happen. (I mean, "Fame" lasted, and I *think* it had the worst sales ever at Bass for a tour)
Having seen the tour a couple months ago, I can understand this. It's just not very good. The Broadway production was better, but the tour was just BAD. Pretty terrible actually. I feel bad for the people...some of who are really talented, but the tour is a bore.
The tour is scheduled to close in July, as originally planned.

So, it's still going to Atlanta?

^ Why did you post that?
The real question is why didn't anyone else?!

The tour was ALWAYS closing on July 1st in San Diego. Other venues started booking the show but not enough to fill a calendar year yet be profitable. All Shook up has been EXTREMELY successful with their tour,it just won't be playing past the SCHEDULED closing of July 1st in San Diego, that's all....If you're on the docket for the tour before then, you will be getting the show. Why some people will feverishly post ANYTHING on a board to get some attention is beyond me.
I'm gonna see it when it comes to San Jose in June :P
If the tour was EXTREMLEY successful, why would they not play venues that they had obvioulsy announced?
"Why some people will feverishly post ANYTHING on a board to get some attention is beyond me."
Why does Rentboy's post make you think he wants attention?
Why some people feverishly berate ANYONE on a board to get some attention is beyond me.
I feel very fortunate to have seen it in Fort Lauderdale, the show wasn't selling too well, but it wasn't doing bad either, since most shows that play at the Broward center don't sell out.
Great "feel good" show.
