Scottwalker, should your real name be SOCKPUPPET? You will never have the good fortune of sitting next to either Marquise or myself, as we probably save our hard earned dollars for better fare. God has nothing to do with having good taste. As for GAMBETESE, she looks like a little boy in those pics that Pennylou insisted upon using in the past, end the of the story.

I can't have it out for someone I just learned how to "spell" the name of and furthermore, knowing she's been with the show for a while is a matter of looking in the archives of Broadway.com. Can't get any more simple than that. And... I was doing that as a courtesy to the rabid JG fans. Remind me never to bother. By the way, in case you missed the copious amounts of threads about this topic on the "other" board, everyone pretty much unanimously agreed that the parade and everyone on it SUCKED! How's that for putting it bluntly? Are you going to go after every poster there and here that disagrees with you? How about the critics? Hmmm? Again, this board will not change the coarse of anyones' career.

I was disapointed that Nikki M. James was not featured on the telecast. I have been a fan of hers ever since I saw her in "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". Then, I went to City Center just to see her in "House of Flowers". In all of these performances, she really lit up the stage. I can't wait to see her in "All Shook Up"!

I'm always amused by the fact that on this site, four hundred people can say the same thing in as acerbic a manner or even more so as myself, but it is only I that is constantly blasted as "bitter" and "having it out for someone", or with some sort of "agenda". Last time I checked, my right to an opinion had not been surgically eviscerated. I guess it's always fun to screw with the worthwhile. Challenges are always fun, so I can't say I blame ya but really people, it's getting mind-numbingly trite. Updated On: 11/29/04 at 08:29 PM

Wow, that's really good, BRAVA Scott, where'd ya learn to "read" like that? I'm off to do something better with my time than defend myself for telling the truth to someone who is clearly more invested in the show than just a casual observer such as myself. Have a lovely evening Scott, :))) And honey , if the best you can get on me about is my "misspelling" of judging, then I think I'm doing just fine.

Here we go again...You forgot to actually say the word Al...Shill...Your favorite word...And it was you who went after Penny Lou about the spelling...Personal attacks...Your specialty!
Al is leaving to go bother someone else now...Board is safe. re: 'All Shook Up' on the Thanksgiving Parade
He has better things to do...

Jennifer Gambatese = an extremely talented young performer who is definitely going places!

All Shook Up = a fun show that has a good story that will have people laughing for days with nicely arranged music, a show for family's and people of all ages.

Al Dente = someone who has nothing better to do but to pick on people like myself for spelling and now my icons. also apparently has trouble tell the difference between the sexes

PennyLou = someone who can use whatever picture she wants as her icon.. Also doesn't need a spelling/bww.com Nazi to tell her she isn't going to be taken seriously because of a learning disability. All gods children should be treated equal!

and thank you Scott!

Oh and by the way also not in the performance but I absolutely adore Mark Price in the show! He was so great in CT and I can't wait to see him in the role again!

I didnt think ALL SHOOK UP was all too hot on the thanksgiving parade. Cheyenne Jackson cant lip sync. I know I know it counts for nothing in the end when he's on stage, but mayeb thats why I didnt like it. It bugged me THE ENTIRE TIME. Jennifer Gambatese seems very talented, the most talented of the bunch. I thought the choreography was akward at times (especially the partner dancing towards the end), and the costumes looked pretty bad. Then again this is one song in a large show that got very good reviews, SO HEY who knows I might end up liking the show...

And I thought GOOD VIBRATIONS was awesome. They were so on and the choreography/costumes/vocals were great. It was actually fun watching them. You weren't stressing or watching for people to screw up on choreography or words or get off on the lip syncing.

The costumes were only for the parade so if those were a problem, rest assured they will be different in the show. The choreography will probably be different as well. Glad you think Jennifer Gambatese seems very talented, the most talented of the bunch :)
I think this was more just to let you know it's coming and get your interest. Brightly colored costumes and using both the opening and closing number. Probably also to show off the new arrangements and the actors. I love Burnin' Love. Can't wait to see the show again.

I thought the performance was fine for what it was--publicity. That's all that parade is anymore--promotions and commercials.

They needed to perform on the parade. It's important publicity. They put together two songs for it. Why are we reviewing it as if it were opening night?

I think the show will be a hit--it has that Grease vibe and people love Elvis.

For the same reason, I bet Good Vibrations will do well. People love the Beach Boys.

Would I prefer original musicals? You bet I would. But, people will be working and more people will be introduced to theatre. And in this volatile climate, it's better than nothing.

I will add to the voices that feel that Cheyenne is talented. I have only seen him live at benefits--and I think the boy has a gorgeous voice. He's also a hot guy who isn't afraid to have fun and be silly on stage. And his being a nice guy transfers to the stage--he never has an ego or snobbishness.

I just find it deeply ironic that we bitch and bitch and bitch about Broadway not giving new talent a chance--and when they do, some people pull the knives out (or just the claws). Let's give Jennifer and Cheyenne a chance to open the show before we crucify them.

Futurewinnerbud,
Yes! Good Vibrations was very good and the lipsync was especially right on. I can hardly wait to see the show, and I'd like to see All Shook Up also. A lot of people, like myself, want some FUN because the world right now isn't very fun and I, for one, need a little break.

"BWW spelling Nazi" how very classy of you Penny, makes me want to jump on any bandwagon you're on as you seem to have such good taste. And WHEN exactly was I supposed to know that now, you TOO have a spelling disorder? Is this the malaise du jour of BWW? Updated On: 11/30/04 at 01:06 PM

Dear Al,
First off I'm sure I am better off not having you on any bandwagon of mine, for it seem we will never have any likes in common. Which is fine.. its' ok to have difference of point of view. That's doesn't mean you have to be rude about it when someone voices a point of view contradicting your..

Second I was classified with a learning disorder in 3rd grade.. I struggled throw my entire elementary and high school career and busted my ass to become a good student (graduated senior year will all A's) but spelling is just something I can't and will never be able to do.. Teacher in school weren't aloud to take off on my work for it.. so I don;t need you to try and make me feel like a lesser person for it either. Do you want to see my school files.. or would a note from my Mom get you off my back?

So there is no need to treat me like I am just making an excuse up, I can prove it to you if you really want! But thanks for trying to make me feel lesser because of it.. not that the whole world has to know this.. Thanks and have a nice and 'All Shook Up' kind of day!

Pennylou
