Anyone see ALTAR BOYZ in Chicago yet? Me and my friend were thinking about getting tickets, and wanted to know what others thought about the tour? Any input would be great! Thanks!

Posted: 10/17/06 at 1:20pmIt's a funny, high energy show - I haven't seen this cast, but I'm sure they're great. I've worked for Ken Davenport (producer and writer) and he wouldn't send out a show that isn't going to guarantee your money's worth.

Posted: 10/17/06 at 1:23pmI saw it in NY for free. But had I paid, I would not have felt that I got my money's worth.

Posted: 10/17/06 at 1:29pmI loved the show when I saw it in New York. I'm planning on going back in April and seeing it when it stops in Pittsburg. It should be worth your time and money!! :)

I'm going tomorrow evening 2nd row center!!!
p.s....out of curiousity, how do they pick the girl they bring on stage...not that I want to do that or anything....LOL

Posted: 10/17/06 at 10:27pmThe character of Matthew makes his decision during the show by scanning the females sitting not far from the stage and not far from the aisle seats.

I saw the show tonight! My friend and I got front row for $25 it was a blast, I dont think I stopped laughing the entire time!! The cast was excellent. Luke's understudy( I dont have the playbill infront of me) was awesome. Luke reminded me of a mix between Cher, Jack McFarland, and a crack head. It was SUPERB!!

I'm so glad you liked it! My roommates and I are coming in to town to stay with a friend this weekend and we're lottoing Spelling Bee, seeing the Pirate Queen, and quite possibly seeing Altar Boyz on Sunday! I'm glad to hear you liked it Stephanie. Do they have a lotto or rush tickets for this show?
P.S. Stephanie, the friend that I'm staying with and I met you at Spelling Bee in June, when you got picked as a speller...those were fun times

yeah totally!! I remember you guys!! have tons of fun!!
I know for some performances they have $25 tickets if you use the code "Mark"..but not sure about SUndays...
they didn't seem to be selling well, so I can't see why they wouldn't have student or rush tickets-but sorry I don't really know!
I like every musical that's in Chicago right now!! so I don't think you can lose!
have fun! and give us the reviews!

Saw the show on Saturday (matinee) and Matthew picked me to bring onstage!
It was great and the polariod picture they took onstage turned out great!
It was a wonderful show - so funny and so much talent! I also talked to the guys after and they were hilarious and unbelievably nice!
I'd definitley recommend it - you won't be dissapointed!

Saw it twice this past weekend, (came in from Detroit area)... very much worth the trip (enjoyed it more than Pirate Queen). The tour cast is top notch (have seen the show about 10 times previously).... standouts are Matthew Buckner(Matthew) and Ryan J Ratliff (Mark). We plan to see it again when it hits Pittsburgh.
Go see it!
