"Though faith-based musicals, including SCANDALOUS, LEAP OF FAITH, and SISTER ACT, have not fared well on Broadway in the last few years, the AMAZING GRACE team sees their show as different because it includes more blatantly Christian content, appealing directly to religious patrons."
Uhh... why not just make the story as good as possible? Those other shows didn't close early based on their content's religiosity percentage. Sister Act did play for 16 months, compared to the other two, so I wouldn't put that one in the same category as the other two, that barely got off the ground.
Not just a good story, but GREAT EXECUTION!

I think we really need something like Book Of Mormon to be successful
I don't think of Sister Act as being a 'religious' show in the same way as Scandolous or even Leap of Faith or Amazing Grace.
I think the marketing of it as a religious piece makes me less inclined to want to see it.

I, for one, completely agree with broadwayworld's review and hope to get to see this show for my fourth time in NYC

It is such a beautiful show! Flawed still, but breathtaking
This will go down in flames. But hey, religious groups are crazy. So let them waste their money.
To the Mark Hellinger!
I saw this at Goodspeed two years ago. It was not very good. It will need major changes to survive on Broadway. Frankly, I don't see how it can. We'll see.
