If it were to close (provided the producers don't jump ship early for whatever reason), I would guess January 30, 2011, when the current block of tickets ends.
The current block of tickets ends in May.
Not going to get into it, but from what I've heard the January rumor is false.
Time will tell.
A lot of the principles' contracts are up in January and I doubt most of them will renew. Even if it isn't planning to close in January, it may fizzle quickly without Gallagher, Sands, Esper, and Vincent.
You would be surprised who has/will renew.
I would think unless they have another gig lined up, they'd ride this one as long as they can.
They do all seem to love doing this show.
I do hope it lasts, don't know if it will, but I'd heard the January rumor was false too.
not that this means its true or that it matters cause she's barely in AI now, but someone wrote on Vans facebook mary is leaving december 12th. does anyone know if this is true? she is rumored for how to succeed right?
I can't imagine "That Championship Season" going to the Booth -- way too small a capacity for a limited run with so many stars. They will want a higher gross potential like the Music Box or the Barrymore or the Jacobs (at least).
The New York Times has already quoted Larry Kramer as hoping that "The Normal Heart" could go to the Booth or the Golden. If that production is happening, I'd say it would be a front-runner for the Booth and very well-suited to that theatre.

TheatreFan4... why don't you just tell us what's going into the Booth. lol
Wasn't there a rumor or buzz that Fat Camp was going to try to open this season on Broadway, they did a reading a lab. ??
- Anyway can't we just talk about what we WISH would be in the booth. Cause what ends up there will probably be lame anyway.

Yeah Mary's rumored for How to Succeed. I know Alexis Grace from Season 8 of American Idol was auditioning for American Idiot today. Out of all the characters, I could see her fitting Heather the most. Would be a kinda stupid stunt cast though, no one knows who she is.
Then it wouldn't BE stunt casting.
Sometimes they just DESERVE the part. (I'm not saying she does or not.)

Oh I totally get that, but well, I think she's still being brought in as one, I don't think she's ever done theater before or expressed interest in it. I actually think she would do a good job vocally, at least. I have no idea if she can act or dance.
perpetual anticipation speculation.

I talked to Michael Esper outside the St. James on Saturday before the matinee, and he said while the cast would love to have Billie back, the producers haven't told them anything.
I also spoke to Rebecca Naomi Jones about a month ago and she said the closing rumors were completely untrue, but I have to keep in mind that was a while ago...

^^You also have to keep in mind that castmembers don't always share everything they know with random fans at the stagedoor.
Yeah. And they're certainly not going to discuss contract renewals either. A significant percentage of the leads aren't returning and I imagine the show would fizzle as Hair did.
/End speculation.

awwww thats a shame. AI was a favorite
Well, they really CAN'T discuss renewals until either they are signed or the producers TELL them they can.
They are often told about closings only hours before the press release goes out as well.
