What are some of the success on Broadway for American Idol/The Voice what are some of the failures.

Only singing comps that have nothing to do with acting.

Diana Degarmo (third season American Idol runner-up) has had some success on Broadway, national tours and regional productions. She was in Hairspray and Hair. She had been in the national tour of 9 to 5 and is currently in the national tour for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Fantasia (IDOL) took over in THE COLOR PURPLE and sold lots of tickets - and also did well in AFTER MIDNIGHT. All in all, I think IDOL contestants have done more in the entertainment biz than THE VOICE contestants... I can name a dozen IDOL people but no voice winners.

However, there have a decent number of Voice contestants that had already appeared on b'way.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
