Amy is amazing! She just finished Feeling Electric last September with Anthony Rapp.
I had the pleasure of meeting her while she was attending a performance of Slut this fall. She's such a sweetheart, I can't wait to see what she's gonna do next.
I know the role of Holly in the wedding singer is still up in the air and she originated that role in workshops and on the demo...so I know it's a long shot, but I'm really hoping she does that!

She was fantastic in Feeling Electric! She captured the sadness, hallucinations, and just everything about her character perfectly, and her singing voice certainly didn't hurt.
I talked to her after, she said they're hoping to have FE make the jump to perhaps off-broadway and she loves the project so much would stay w/ it for that, I certianly hope so, I would love to see her in that role again.

Posted: 12/1/05 at 2:52amwhen did she do Roxie? So Wedding Singer wouldn't be her B'way debut? I loved her in reefer madness, wasn't sure it was her but when she opened that mouth to sing, i knew that voice! I love her "come to your sense" - amazing!

Posted: 12/1/05 at 6:16amPlease forgive me, But I saw her in "CHICAGO" and it was difficult to watch. Thank God she had a GREAT cast with her - I'm sure she would be great in other productions, but I don't think I have seen her in anything except "CHICAGO".

So Wedding Singer wouldn't be her B'way debut?
Broadway debut? Amy Spanger has been a Broadway performer for 10+ years...

yeah, her Broadway debut was in Sunset Blvd.
The wedding singer (i didn't realize she was in that, now I have 3 reasons to see it (lynch and benanti being the other 2)) will be her 5th broadway show, and her second time opening a show.

Posted: 12/1/05 at 12:28pmI've seen her in Urinetown and Kiss Me, Kate and although I think she was miscast for the former, I nonetheless think she is a fantastic talent

Posted: 12/1/05 at 12:51pmIf you rent the DVD of Reefer Madness, Amy Spanger is one of the "Commentators" on the voice/over track and reveals a nice sense of humor and a lot of patience putting up with the sophomoric come-ons of the male contingent - including the director and producer - who are clearly in her thrall. Check it out.

malladro - i'll def. have to listen to that tonite.
Sorry, I wasn't aware that she was a big Broadway talent. Everything that i've heard about her as mostly been off-broadway stuff.

Posted: 12/1/05 at 1:14pmI saw her in tick, tick BOOM and she was amazing. When she sung "Come to Your Senses" she brought the place down. Her voice is beautiful.

Posted: 12/1/05 at 1:46pmBTW, did anyone catch her, a month or so ago, on one of the final Six Feet Unders? She was the sister of the multiple-amputee soldier who helped him commit suicide, then had a beautifully written and acted scene at the funeral home with her real-life husband, Michael C. Hall. She's not just a pretty voice.

Posted: 12/1/05 at 6:01pmlets's clarify that Amy is NOT in Wedding Singer...she workshopped Holly and was on the demo...the role of Holly still isn't cast, so we don't know if she'll take it or not or even if it's still being offered to her.
