@Carlos-I had thought about Linda Lavin, too. I don't know if she'd do it, but she has the potential.
I would love, love, love to see Chita Rivera tackle it. (It is 'stunt casting' of a sort as she played Fastrada.) She looks amazing and I think she'd be wonderful.

You need a fit actress. Linda, Tovah, Bernadette and Chita still workout and are very fit.

Forgive my ignorance as I have never seen any incarnation of Pippin...but is the role really that physically demanding?

rohrschach-In this incarnation there is some physical aspect to the role which necessitates an actress who has certain capabilities.

I agree about Chita too. It would be an interesting idea since she played Fastrada years ago. Graduating from the stepmother to the grandmother!
