@Carlos-I had thought about Linda Lavin, too. I don't know if she'd do it, but she has the potential.

I would love, love, love to see Chita Rivera tackle it. (It is 'stunt casting' of a sort as she played Fastrada.) She looks amazing and I think she'd be wonderful. Updated On: 8/29/13 at 10:36 AM

You need a fit actress. Linda, Tovah, Bernadette and Chita still workout and are very fit.

Forgive my ignorance as I have never seen any incarnation of Pippin...but is the role really that physically demanding?

rohrschach-In this incarnation there is some physical aspect to the role which necessitates an actress who has certain capabilities.

I agree about Chita too. It would be an interesting idea since she played Fastrada years ago. Graduating from the stepmother to the grandmother!

Don't know if its been mentioned in this thread already but the Pippin FB announced Andrea's final performance is 9/22
