I'm researching Andrew Lloyd Webber for an upcoming evening at the theatre I work at and I'm trying to get an estimated number of people that have seen an Andrew Lloyd Webber show. I've got some show-specific stats (over 60 million have seen Cats, over 80 million have seen Phantom, etc.) but wondering if anyone has run past a stat about ALL ALW shows? Any idea?
I believe that it is estimated that a sh*tload of people have seen an ALW show.
Let's count!
Phantom - 1
CATS - 1
May I suggest you email RUG at Online_Team@reallyuseful.co.uk
They can only estimate figures, since many productions of CATS and other show like JOSEPH and JCS have been done world-wide by professinal and non-professional prodcution companies.
JOSEPH has been performed in over 25,000 schools. Starlight Express (which I know many people do not like) was on the West End for years. There there are touring productions for JCS and EVITA that go out just about every year.
Anyway, if you email them I am sure they can give you approximate figures. :)

ALOT!
I have, and my boyfriend has. So, at least two?
Pretty cool stats from Wikipedia:
"With worldwide gross of US $3.3 billion, total worldwide box office takings of over £1.8bn ($3.2bn).[2], and an attendance of 80 million, it is the highest-grossing entertainment event of all time."
(and for anyone who wants to regurgitate some joke about wikipedia not being accurate:

don't believe wikipedia... that site is lies.. But good luck getting that number
Thanks for reading my whole post Christina. If you google the topic, you'll get pages of articles about how accurate that site is... but good luck getting the facts. :)
Many many people
69,267,455, approximately. It would be 69,267,456 but I saw Phantom twice, so I backed out the duplicate. But if you count JOSEPH in a semi-professional production which I saw 8 years ago, go ahead and use 69,267,456.

I think it is enough people that if you got a quarter for every person who has seen his shows, you could retire and not even worry about your paper.
