Breathe now, because you're not going to take another breath for three minutes and twelve seconds.

In the light of two eyes
That adore him...
Dagnabbit, Andrew, why can't you like a vag? He's too perfect.
I was there, it was an amazing evening of amazing people, but none more spectacular than Rannells singing the Styne/Merill classic. Yeah, it was breathtaking. Thanks for posting this!
I was there too -- it was great. That and Elizabeth Stanley/Sierra Boggess' "Tonight" were the highlights. And what a treat for Jason Michael Snow to get a starring role! Love him.
I'm still hoping a video pops up of Tony Yazbeck doing "Music & The Mirror" from a few years ago.
Not only is he adorable, not only does he have an exciting voice, but he is so committed to the material that you can see every thought and feel every emotion, as if you're seeing right into his soul. He's really kind of perfect.
What a cutie.
Who was he singing about?
(Beside you Joey).
He seems to be a charming guy from interviews. But the belted parts of that performance were awfully nasal and very hard on the ears.
One man's "awfully nasal" is the music that makes another man dance.

He might become a good singer once he hits puberty.
Now, Gavin Creel's Music That Makes Me Dance could make me dance.

And on my favorite Jule Styne ballad, no less! Thanks, joey, and please sign me up for the Andrew Rannells Fan Club.

Well that was just delightful. The expressiveness of his eyes amazes me.
As I listen to this again I detect a bit of Johnny Ray...which gets me to thinking Andrew Rannells in CRY: THE JOHNNY RAY STORY.
A closeted gay man achieves international fame while having to keep his sexuality hidden.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
I was there for this. I melted when he sang this...
He's just as good at "The Origins of Love," from Hedwig:

Thank you, PalJoey.
Thank you.
I was there when he sang "The Origin Of Love" as well. TOTALLY thrilling.
I've been a fan of his for about five years now... so fun to see all this unfold for him. :)
I want to hear him sing "Being Alive
This was a definite highlight of this year's Broadway Backwards. I love everything about Broadway Backwards and highly recommend it to anyone who's ever considered going. The chance to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS while hearing performers like Andrew Rannells take on great songs they normally wouldn't get to perform in a musical is unbeatable.

Pal Joey, that is an inspired request. Let's hope he hears about it and takes you up on the idea.

Yes, thank you again, joey! I never ceased to be amazed at the sheer audacity of "The Origins of Love".
"Let's set PLATO'S SYMPOSIUM to music!"
"Yeah! And we'll throw in Thor and Osiris, too!"
I'd also like to hear him do "A New Argentina."
Maybe in the next Broadway Backwards...
He just became even more perfect.
