TCM showed De Mille's SAMSON AND DELILAH, with Lansbury in a supporting role, at the height of her beauty. Dreadfully silly movie, but she's lovely in it.

She is exquisite in THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GREY as well. And I thought she looked amazing at the Drama League benefit the other night - she has wonderful skin and incredible eyes.

She also looks utterly stunning in the Court Jester, with Danny Kaye. Her figure was incredible and her eyes luminous.
Here she is with Basil Rathbone in a candid B&W shot during filming.

Yes, timeless beauty. A lot of it is in how she carries herself. Her eyes, persona... her grace, charm, wit, her long history and style.

She is certainly beautiful - but actually lucky not to be too beautiful. Great actresses who are beautiful without being "babes" actually have longer careers and get better parts than the real knockouts, who tend to get romantic leads for just a few years.

I think that first picture is kinda horrible.
Yeah, I can't get my eyes to move away from the underarm fold on the right side of the picture. That is what photoshop was created for.

To be fair, the other picture isn't all that great, either.
ETA - Who is mean? I never said she wasn't beautiful back in the day. I just think her stalker picked a bad picture to use as an example.

See ya. Have fun jerking off to season three of Murder, She Wrote!
There's a picture on facebook of Angela backstage at Night Music with no make-up and in pajamas (well a robe). It's really adorable, but I won't post it out of respect.

You should post it. It will make StageQueen's night!
Phyllis, honey, Kalimba just adores you. Your posts in this thread are priceless. I don't know how you figured out that Stage Queen and Angela Elizabeth were one and the same.

Wonder what his/her next incarnation will be. Love, love, love, the Murder She Wrote comment!
In the Court Jester photo she looks like Cyndi Lapuer, who I think is sooo cute. I wonder if Angela's burger is made with organic grass fed beef?

And the original, since Stalkie Sue took her ball home.

I always thought she was sort of bordering on jolie laide. Emphasis on the jolie, but still.
