I think qolbinau was being sarcastic about confining women to burkas. He is wrong, however, that no feminists criticize the treatment of women in other countries.

You are right that women and men should be allowed to wear what they want (within basic guidelines which I think an employer has a right to set). But when I was younger and in much better shape, I knew I attracted attention when I wore well-fitted clothing. I didn't go around complaining about it.

Oh hell yes I do.

It seems to be forbidden to speak about this, but many women know exactly what they want and are willing to go far to get what they want. And yes, they want to be seen as special and are often disappointed when it turns out they are liked for 1 thing.

Often producers, casting directors or directors are the initiators, yes, and often women are the initiators too. Like I said there is a huge gray area.

This Seems to be the problem. If you even IMPLY that a woman may have initiated something you are immediately called a victim shamer. Yes, I believe some of these men were wrong. In the case of Charlie Rose I would really like to hear his full story based on the statement he released. I have watched in the past, and even now, women who have stalked and planned to get men in certain "sexual situations" for personal gain. Yep, it happens. So open your eyes people who are so quick to slam people who bring this up. It is real and it happens.

Well, I can agree with her in a sense. I mean, as far as some of the Louis CK thing goes, if you're a woman and invited back to a man's hotel room, it's essentially assumed something is going to happen. Just like if you're on a date and someone says "come back to my place?"

She's 92 and old school british. She's not woke.

I love her work, but her political voice is not something worth analyzing, giving focus to, or even admonishing.

Her generation is the voice controlling many awful things in this country right now.

She's one who's better off just being a performer.

No. Her voice should be heard. Yes, she is missing the point, so to speak, but I know where she is coming from. Back in the day, the way women dressed was a thing. Women are more aggressive now.....both personality and dress.

Here's a novel idea - read the entirety of the article rather than click-bait headlines. Then you'll at least see what she said in context. I hope SHE is not shamed (to use the most cliched word in the language - oh, along with the specious "woke" to apologize. She has nothing to apologize for. She is allowed her thoughts and opinions, just as all of you are. I'm sick of this lynch mob BS, frankly, this dragging everyone with an opinion that might not jibe with your oh so moral world to the stake to be burned. Yes, we are guilty until proven innocent in this world of stupid social media. Of course, every now and then we get the McMartin cases, you know, where all the victims were believed without hesitation and those people's lives were ruined and basically ended - only it was all lies, every last accusation and absurd "confession" - lies. You think that isn't happening now? Because it is. Plain as the nose on your face.

Meanwhile, the people wishing death to Ms. Lansbury deserve that fate all by themselves, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.
