This is unprecedented,right? I've always felt that a black ANNIE would be a good choice for the show (& I don't mean in the vein of like a black HELLO DOLLY), but where Miss Hannigan, Rooster, the other orphans & maybe a few mansion staff members are the only other black characters in the show), but has any other musical ever had 4 filmed versions before?

"Annie" also ends at Christmastime, so it's an obvious occasion to release the film.
