I just came across a video on YouTube of Aileen Quinn (who played "Annie" in the movie version), and she said she would love to play Eponine in Les Miz.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gya2NK7OVHQ (she mentiones it at 3:30 on the time stamp)
The video is a few years old, but I was wondering if anyone had any comments. I think it would be interesting to see her in that role. Does anyone know if she auditioned for the revival?

She's probably way too old at this point.
She's adorable, but the interviewer is a tool-where did he crawl out from. :)
Aileen was like my childhood idol!
The interviewer makes me laugh. He's hysterical. And, much more interesting than the "former-kid-star-I'm-still-here" blah blah...
Well, she is very small. And we have had Christines of quite an advanced age (in comparison with that of the character). So... why not? ^_^

In the interview she mentions being in Peter Pan. I remember this coming to L.A. a few years ago, but did it ever get to Broadway? I cannot remember.
Yep...

Isn't she like 50 now?

She was born in 1971. Wasn't Celia born mid-70's anyway? It wouldn't be too farfetched, but I thought the Annie in question was the one from the ABC filmed remake in 1999. That would make sense, she is about 20 now.
If Celia's MySpace is accurate, she's 29.
One of the Eponine's I saw in London looked like she was pushing 40. She had a decent voice and was TINY so I'm sure she looked fine from the mezzanine. Not so much from the 4th row. It didn't quite fit with her 25 year old Marius.

I know Aileen is kinda old for the part, but I think she looks pretty young. Who knows if she'd even fit into that role. I just thought it was interesting that she mentioned wanting to do it.
I think this is a more recent pic of her (taken last year).

Interestingly --
Lea Salonga played Annie in her first stage role ( here in Manila!) and she eventually played Eponine at the West End and on Broadway...and she is now playing the role of Fantine
And Andrea McArdle played Eponine and Fantine, too.
WOW...anyone else think she looks like Annette Benning???

Alicia Morton played Annie in the 1999 film. She is my favorite film Annie, I espically liked her "Maybe." I think she might have potential to be a good Eponine, I am not sure. Another girl in that movie that I think would probably make a great Eponine is Lalaine(who was my first stage young Cosette). Both Alicia and Lalaine have played young Cosette/young Eponine, Alicia on Broadway and Lalaine on the tour.
Come to think of it, Annie (the Orphan) would be great in Le Miz. The song Tomorrow would fit also. The french revolution & singing about the sun coming out Tomorrow fits. Think about it.
OH NOES
Les Miz =/= the French revolution
