Wow its tony time write all the annoyances with the telecast here.
My only quibble was with the Spiderman segment. It's definitely going to be cut from my final highlights DVD. Harris was a blast!

I'm personally a bit sick of Memphis already, so I could've gone without their performance. Overall I thought it was an amazing show! Best one they've had in a while.
Hey I'm just happy that the SOUND wasn't it's usual total clusterf*ck. I only had it go silent two short instances on my set last night. For that, I'm totally grateful.
MUCH improved in terms of sound from previous years, as previously mentioned. My only "annoyance" was the iffy mic situation for Sister Act
I enjoyed the cameraman who shot the sequence about The Motherf**ker in front of the theatre with the Light Pole conveniently placed to blot out a portion of the marquee
Though NPH was brilliant, and the performances were great, the direction and camerawork for the performances were sub-par. I would have cut Memphis and Spiderman, and added a little more love for the play revivals.
Why are we making a complain thread? Isn't there enough negativity and cynicism on this board yet?
Pinoyidol, as far as some posters are concerned there will never be enough negativity on this message board.
I have very few complaints...it was a much smoother show than the previous few years (from a technical standpoint) and the musical numbers -limited by the choices available this season - were at least entertaining to watch (from someone who saw only one of this year's nominated musicals.)
AS said on another thread, I would do away with the lengthy laundry lists of thank yous: always the most boring part of any awards shows, and replace them with clip showcasing the award winning work of the winner.
Overall I found it fun and entertaining.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
