Another Show Suggestion Question

I have time for one more show when I'm in NYC in a month. I'm already seeing Dear Evan Hansen. I've narrowed it down to the following:

- The Color Purple (I saw the original twice but heard this version is different and better)
- Book of Mormon (I've never seen it but the touring production has come twice to my hometown and chances are it will come again)
- Fiddler on the Roof (I've never seen it, just the movie in the 1980's)

Which show would everyone recommend?

I have already seen Wicked, Hamilton, Waitress, School of Rock, Phantom, Cats and none of the other current shows peak my interest.

The Color Purple hands down

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Do NOT miss this Color Purple. Seriously. If Erivo is scheduled to be on when you're in town, I am requiring that you go Another Show Suggestion Question

Another Show Suggestion Question

Color Purple and Fiddler are both excellent, easily the two best shows on Broadway right now, so you can't go wrong with either of them. If I had to choose between the two I'd say Purple. There will be other Fiddlers.

Book of Mormon is personally my favorite of the shows, but if you're certain it will come to your town again, don't see it in nyc, it's just as good on tour. I saw Fiddler and thought it was beautiful, and would definitely recommend it! Haven't seen Purple but I've heard it's amazing

Another Show Suggestion Question

In the list you've put forth, The Color Purple, definitely.

Not on the list, I saw "Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812" yesterday and it was a stunning theater experience. In terms of originality, it's 2016's Hamilton. Not that I'm comparing the two shows, just how unique they are in the innovation they bring to Broadway. You may or may not love it, but it's certainly worth seeing for the experience of it.

I saw "Book of Mormon" years ago in previews and enjoyed it overall, but not enough to see it again. Not a fan of the cringe-worthy scatological humor.

Another Show Suggestion Question

Thanks everyone for your responses. It looks like I can't go wrong with The Color Purple. I was getting caught up on the fact that I saw the original production twice but I keep hearing this production is different and a must see.

I did consider Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 pacificnorthwest but after watching the promotional video online for the show, it didn't interest me at all.

Thanks again for all your suggestions. I really appreciate it!
