I heard this from a stage hand at the Imperial...
The other night Anika was out (for the first time, I believe) and her understudy, who I think is Marja Harmon was going on.
She was going over some business with a fellow actor who noticed something stange under the bed.
It was a guitar, that Mr. Howard has been strumming in his dressing room.
It seems that Mr. Howard had decided to play a tune during Maggie's big speech to plug his new CD.
The guitar was placed in a closet and Mr. Howard did not get to sing during an understudy's first show.
When the curtain came down, the wonderful Mr. Howard had a screaming fit, because his plans had been altered.
I just want to say what a charming, giving, professional actor he seems to be and he will be sorely missed on Broadway.
Good luck to him in all his future projects.

Does CPD ever make sense?

he spaces every sentence like
this.

Posted: 6/21/08 at 2:14amThe guitar was onstage and he planned to play it onstage during the show. But someone took it and put it in a closet offstage. Then he cried. That's how I read it.

The way I read the story was that he hid a guitar onstage to sing a song during maggies's opening speech to plug in a new cd he is working on. However, someone found the guitar and put it off stage and Howard couldn't find it when he went onstage to sing his song so he threw a fit.
Isn't this guy a bit too old to be acting like a five year old?

You know, I really hope that this is true.
Because that is an awesome story!

Posted: 6/21/08 at 2:28pmI walked into the box office on Wednesday to buy for that evening's performance, saw that Terrence was in and Anika was out, then swiftly turned and walked out of the box office. If she was in and he wasn't there to desecrate the material, I'd have been pleased to see it.
