Alright, this is my first review so please bear with me, and please forgive my errors. ^_^;;
Ok, so I bought my tickets from Tkts, and of course I checked my change ^_~ I got to the theatre and as I sit down and start getting comfortable, who do I see? Michael Arden. Needless to say I was very excited. He ended up sitting two rows in front of me so I had a perfect view of...his head. During intermission I asked for his autograph and he was so sweet and modest. He was like...me? You want *my* autograph? With this adorable surprised look on his face. So he signed my playbill - Thank you so much, <3 Michael Arden. I was a very happy person.
Anyway, back to the show. It was an amazing show. I didn't know exactly what to expect at first, but I was sure glad I went. I had just seen "Doubt" this past Saturday and thought it was amazing, and I must say this surpased it. Billy and Jeff's acting was surpurb, the whole cast was. Each person had me on the edge of my seat holding on to their every word. It just had me amazed. The script itself was wonderful. The end was something I didn't expect. Everything about it was just perfect. It didn't leave you with an ending you could really interpret like Doubt did, but it did have it's own magic and I seemed to leave the theatre with much more on my mind then with Doubt. I was very pleased with my evening, and I hope to see it again before it closes. ^_^
I agree when I saw Pillowman I had to go out and by the play to reread what I had just seen because I was still in shock and was trying to see how I felt about the whole situation.
In my personal oppion i thought itwas MUCH better then Doubt, but don't get me wrong Doubt was good but PIllowman was astonishing
I agree with you 100% BwayBaby! ^^
I loved Doubt, but this show was spectacular!!! I had to buy the play like you said BwayBaby, just to redigest what I had just seen!!! I love this show and wish they would film this show for release.
On another note I would also like to see the differences that the london cast and london staging had.
I saw the play this afternoon, and I thought it was brilliant. Without a doubt, one of the best plays I've ever seen. Crudup, Goldblum, Stahlburg, and Ivanek were all equally sensational. It was just a hypnotic piece of work; It had bizarre imagery, a tense atmosphere, fascinating subject matter, and a refreshing sense of humor.
This play should not be closing. I cannot stress this enough: If you have not seen The Pillowman, you only have one month to do so. I suggest you start looking at your options.

I second that. Completely.
Fo' Sho' w/o a doubt go!! It is the most thrilling experience you'll have on B'way...the way it grasps and keeps you on the edge of your seat is more thrilling than almost all the shows on bway it really is two hours of pure theatrical heaven.

There might be an extension, right?
What I meant is that I want to see ANY production of it.
Damn you for reviving a 3-year old thread. I got excited that somebody was doing a production of this again!

Denver Center Theater Company did a production last season. Like an idiot I passed up seeing it on Broadway. I enjoyed our production but I hear the staging in New York was incredible.
