Just revisited "RG", and even more amazed at Chisholm's performance ! Man, how I would love to see a Tony win !!!
Absolutely!
He is completely brilliant. I actually think he may win. His performance is something too special to pass by.
I would be THRILLED to see Anthony take home the Tony. I have seen all of the nominees, and while it is a tight race (Hawke and Crudup were fantastic), Anthony's performance comes out on top for me. His character is so complex yet he comes across as down to earth and very human. I'd also love to see RADIO GOLF take home Best Play.
He's spectacular in Radio Golf.
I personally wouldn't vote for RADIO GOLF for best play (I'd vote for UTOPIA), but I would be just as pleased if it actually won.
Come to think of it, I will be happy no matter what wins best play...I love them all.
And I thought Crudup should win for the longest time, but the more and more I think about it, the more I want Chisholm to win.
He's an absolutely astonishing actor!
I have not been so moved by a performance in such a long time !!
Even when he isnt speaking, he is amazing- He mannerisms alone are worth seeing !
He makes you feel for the character - I put this performance ahead of every other that I have seen this season, including Langella, who is remarkable.
Chisholm is simply brilliant !
Threadjacking a bit.....
Congrats to Gaines, although I thought Chisholm was better---
Actually, I thought both Sands and Dancy were better than Gaines. (not taking anything away from Gaines... the entire cast is just so amazing in "JE" !)
I agree, Testing.
It wasn't that Gaines wasn't strong, he just had little to do.
I'm crossing my fingers for Chisholm for the Tony.
Like I said... Gaines was very good, but I really dont think his performance comes close to Chisholm's-
Crossing fingers with ya for the Tony- !!

I'm riding the Chisholm train to the Tonys too. One of the most brilliant performances in recent memory.
Completely agree.
I thought Billy Crudup was the best thing about Coast of Utopia part 1, but here's why I think Chisholm should win: Billy Crudup's character really isn't important to the entire arc of Coast of Utopia while Chisholm's character really is the heart of the piece and around which the action of the play revolves.
I loved him in Gem of the Ocean too. I hope the Tony voters don't vote for Coast down the ballot and instead honor an actor whose work has too often gone unrecognized.
I have a feeling people will vote for him as the sole recognition for RADIO GOLF.
We know Crudup does consistantly good work, but a performance like Chisholm's is rare.
