I think people here attach WAY too much importance to their own, and other people's, opinions. If Tarzan has a chance at success, nothing anyone says here is going to change that. And if it's crap, people are going to talk about that..Here, on the phone, on the street, at work, everywhere.
There's way too many posts of the "all you mean people stop saying bad things about that musical, don't you know how hard everyone's been working it" variety.
The best way to avoid negative buzz is the same now as it's been throughout theatre history: Put on a wonderful show (and even THAT won't stop SOME negative buzz!)
There were more than 200 people lined up for the first lottery of that show. These were NOT tourists. I find it very hard to believe this show is doing battle with any legit negative buzz. It's not even getting out-of-town reviews so it's pretty null I think. I saw Tarzan Rocks in Disney World and this looks about the same... and guess what audiences love it.
Disney is in the business of filling seats not winning pulitzers.
