Has anyboby seen Forbidden Broadway SVU since it re-opened in NY? It supposed to have a bunch of new material, and I'm dying to go...
Apparently they have added Jersey Boys, Pajama Game, and I think Wedding Singer material. I want to see it so badly. I was gonna go to the 4 o'clock show today, but got tickets to Drowsy for the 2 o'clock and wasn't sure if I would have enough time. Oh well, maybe next weekend.
They had Jersey Boys and Pajama game the day before their hiatus. They also had a little Lestat thing in there. I'm dying to see it again.
The Pajama Game thing was kinda bland- like they felt they HAD to put something in. Their "Teeny Todd" is much funnier.
Can anyone post a list of songs?

I was there on Monday night, their first performance back in NYC and I was actually disappointed. Two of the standbys went on. I should have gone to the opening of Rita Wilson in Chicago. If you have seen previous FB shows, and heard the Special Victims Unit CD, then there is not much new to amuse you. I am guess I am getting jaded. I remember the first time I went to an FB show in NYC a dozen or so years ago, not being prepared for what was to come, and laughed hysterically. With each subsequent show, I haven't laughed that much. And on Monday, I laughed maybe twice because I was too aware of the material from the SVU CD. The audience did laugh a lot, so don't go by me.
I was hoping for new bits that were not on the CD and there were some, but not many. The Sweeney Todd bit was funny in places, and they have updated the It Sucks to Be Me number to include Julia Roberts instead of Brooke Shields and they changed the Tom Hewitt character but I can't recall to whom. There are bits on Light in the Piazza, Spamalot, DRS, Pajama Game, and possibly some others not on the CD.
On the whole, I think if you live in NYC and have plenty of time to see the show, by all means go. But if you only visit the city every few years, like me, and have seen FB in the last six years or so, and there are shows you would like to see on Broadway, I would recommend stick to the CDs, and catch Broadway shows while you are able.

The Pajama Game one wasn't the best, the Jersey Boys one was funny. My personal favorite is The Light In The Piazza one.
Is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's still in it? I heard that it was funny and want to see it.

I was there on Wednesday. 2 understudies were on.
I was disappointed at the lack of new material- I saw it in March, and the only thing that was added was a Julia Roberts bit during "It Sucks to be Me."
Songs(from the top of my head)
The Crime Scene/ Forbidden Broadway: SVU
Chicago (Brooke Shields)
Doubt (Kathleen Turner/Cherry Jones)
You Gotta Get a Puppet
It Sucks to be Me (Julia Roberts bit added)
Beauty's Been Decreased
Welcome to the Tonys
The Light in the Piazza (March)
Robert Goulet
Phantom (Music of the Night)
Wickeder
Circle of Mice
Can You Feel the Pain Tonight?
Jersey Boys Sequence (NOT new, was in place in March)
The Revival Game (Pajama Game, was there in March)
Yoko Ono
Squeaky Todd (March)
Julie Andrews- I Couldn't Hit the Note/Disco Queen
The Song That They Stole From Us (March)
There's No Broadway Like Forbidden Broadway
No mention of Lestat.
Apparently they were waiting until after the Tonys for the new material. I can understand that, but the NY hiatus was a perfect time to revamp the show. It just wasn't as funny this time...
The new version starts next week.

The Jersey Boys spoof is HYTERICAL! I don't want to give too much away... much they sing "Scary" to the tune of "Sherry" and then do a take on "Walk Like A Man" thats something like:
"Walk like a man,
Sing like a girl"
And they talk about sucking helium to sing the falsetto... it's great!

starletta8, glad to see someone else agrees with my review of the show. However, actually, they weren't really on hiatus, they were performing in San Diego all the time. And their last performance there was Sunday, so they flew back to NYC and still did a show in time on Monday. But, except for a few moments, it was a disappointment. I'm guessing they may wait until the new season of Broadway shows starts coming out so they can have fresh material.

What is the LitP one?
Margaret walks on stage with leaves blowing, and she turns to face offstage and a BIG bunch of leaves is thrown in her face. Then Clara runs on, running around the stage, cross-eyed, making her condition evident. Then Fabrizio runs on stage and says to Margaret "I am in love with you daughter, I want to marry her", to which Margaret responds "Oh, but she has a terrible secret which cannot be revealed until Act 2!!" Fabrizio promises to take care of her, Margaret shows Fabrizio the Clara can count by stomping her foor like a horse (implying that the kick in the head made her act like a horse), and Margaret leaves Clara in Fabrizio's arms and leaves. Then Clara and Fabrizio sing a duet spoofing "Say it Somehow" about how the music is too hard and they have to get out the sheetmusic... It doesn't sound funny, but acted out it's absolutely HYSTERICAL!!!

What is the new Sweeney segment like? I've heard the old "Teeny Todd" and wondered if it was anything like that.
If anyone knows Gerard Allesandrini (or if he visits this board) he really should have someone as Patti LuPone playing Little Tykes trumpet (even though she doesn't play it in the show), Cerveris playing a Little Tykes guitar and someone playing a Little Tykes drum.
