Anybody watching "Passion"?

I'm watching it right now. Wow...Patti is so spooky...but sooo talented. I'm really liking it so far.

re: Anybody watching 'Passion'?

My friend's taping it for me, since I would've had to miss part of it, and I want to watch the whole thing in order. I'll watch it over the weekend. re: Anybody watching 'Passion'?

re: Anybody watching 'Passion'?

I was going to comment on the fantastic makeup job on Patti, but have been busy being enthralled by the performances. I never cared much for this show, but I'm feeling that change song by song thanks to the talent onscreen right now. But yeah, Lupone's Fosca visage is unsettling to say the least. Almost as unsettling as Cerveris' "white boy" legs that threatened to upstage the 1st scene.

HAHA, yes, his legs DID upstage the first scene. They all sound BEAUTIFUL!!! And Patti is SCARY looking... Like a dead person from The Sixth Sense...

Patti looks like Samara from The Ring about 50 years later in life.

This is incredible! They sound wonderful. Patti is unbelievably well made-up. She looks two mins from death.

Michael Cerveris reminds me of Harry from Sex and the City with his shirt off...

Yes...not very sexy indeed...but talented nonetheless.

re: Anybody watching 'Passion'?

The staging is very impressive for a concert and the acting and singing is first rate. I haven't seen or heard this show since the I saw the OBC and forgot how much I enjoyed it. A fascinating score.

Not sure so far whether I prefer Lupone or Murphy. I seem to recall Murphy's voice being more searing and powerful than Lupone's (though I probably shouldn't compare hearing Murphy live to seeing Lupone on television), but so far, Lupone's acting seems more nuanced. Anyway, they're both brilliant.

And, yes, the white boy legs were bothersome.

It is interesting. His face is marvelous, but below that... is causing me some trouble. I still love him . And Audra is Beautiful! Thank God for PBS!

re: Anybody watching 'Passion'?

grrr i completely forgot it was on. I turned it on Surviver out of habit then came here 45minutes later...grrrr...i think it reruns at 1am and since I got the day off of work tomorrow I think I may stay up and watch/tape it!

I love Patti, I'm sure she's amazing in this, as well as Michael and Audra!

More Sondheim shows need to be broadcast on PBS!

re: Anybody watching 'Passion'?

I wonder who would win if they were to hold a topless beauty contest among the major Giorgios. Michael Ball could probably give cerveris a run for his money.

on a slightly more legit note, what's the story with jere shea? was he any good? i wonder why he's not had any other broadway credits.

I would assume he was good since he won the Tony.

I just don't understand how a man can be SO hairless and SO pale... Oh. Now I feel mean.

Blast! I didn't know this was on!!! I love me some Cerveris. Does anyone know if this is supposed to be on again (I know I could look it up online, but if anyone happens to know offhand)???

Jere didn't win, he was nominated. Boyd Gaines won that year. back to the business at hand, I just want to send out a huzzah for George Dvorsky.
