Lets not forget some of the best NYC theatre is off the Rialto.
Any recommendations?
My latest in-takes include:
TIN PAN ALLEY RAG
(Enjoyable dancing and staging but semi-interesting book)
STUNNING
(really title speaks for itself)
TWELFTH NIGHT
(Isherwoods review hits it, phenomenal production)
RUINED
(extended for the 8000th time, see it while you can, the women are princesses)
Yes, Toxie is a lot of fun.
As for the ones you mentioned ... agree about TIN PAN ALLEY RAG and RUINED, but I was less than stunned by STUNNING - though the production design was quite impressive.

while NEXT FALL was not perfect, it was provocative, clever, and extraordinarily well-acted. It deserves the "recommended" Brantley's given it ...
I am definitely going to grab tix for NEXT FALL in the next few weeks.
And will be taking-advantage of the $17.76 tickets for TOXIC on Sunday mat.
Def go with Toxic! Celina was SO good and it is pure FUN! I didn't go in expecting to laugh so much but I was taken by surprise! It was SO much fun! (not to mention, Nancy Opel... oh boy, words can't describe how I feel about her now :) )
I'm seeing Toxie next month. I heard that Matt Saldivar has left the show which makes me a lil sad - I was looking forward to seeing him in this.
I love Marvelous Wonderettes and they have a practically new cast. Beth Malone, Bets Malone, and Victoria Matlock have all moved on to other shows so more than half the cast is new.

"The Fantasticks" is always good!

STUNNING is stunning in every single way, except for the last 20 minutes which kill it.
TWELFTH NIGHT is a very enjoyable disappointment.
TOXIC AVENGER is a lot of fun. Score is iffy.
Go see Toxic for the performances! I've never seen another 5 person cast pack such a punch. Nancy is just the funniest woman in NYC and the 2 guys who play EVERY imaginable role in the show = perfection.

Our Town.
Beautiful Production.
Toxic Avenger. The score isn't so bad. I think it serves its purpose, and a lot of it still holds up on the cast recording.
I wanna see Stunning so bad. I think I'll attempt to get a ticket, but they seem to be going quickly.
Saw Toxic Avenger for the second time tonight, and Eug- you won't be disappointed on Sunday! I really love the show. I did miss Matt Saldivar, and the direction is not as sharp as it was when I saw the show early in previews. But for the most part- I highly recommend!
If you want just a good, fun evening, you cannot beat The Marvelous Wonderettes. Just good clean fun!
definitely Next Fall. Still lingers with me after seeing it weeks ago.
and Our Town
Ruined was pretty emotionally enthralling too.
Twelfth Night was fun.
and Toxic Avengers is totally ridiculous (in a fun if brainless way)

I also recommend THE FANTASTICKS. Just saw it again and the current cast is fresh and vocally excellent.
I recommend both Wonderettes and Toxic. And, although I haven't seen it myself, Our Town comes highly recommended from those who's opinion I trust.
Our Town is great, and I'm so happy it's still running!

Been telling my friend for months to see Our Town, and this week he did, and yesterday I got a message from him that he was rushing out for breakfast, whatever that means.
The Tin Pan Alley Rag is a lot of fun. Add a star if you read music, play piano or have seen Annie Get Your Gun and wondered how it connects to White Christmas.
Coraline was more my style of piano playing, but I think it's closing this weekend. And The Marvelous Wonderettes was fun in an Archies kind of way.
I think STUNNING is sold out for the remainder of the run.

The Amish Project at Rattlesack theatre is AMAZING.
GO!
Ruined is good, but set your expectations low. All of the hype has been unhealthy for it, I think. Definitely worth a see.
Agree that Toxic Avenger is a hell of a lot of fun and well worth the money. Very original and theatrical. Gotta admire Rando's directing and the talented cast.
Anyone think Our Town or Ruined could transfer to Broadway this season?
Thanks for these recommendations, just adding word-of-mouth to shows I already knew had to be great.
I am also a huge supporter of THE FANTASTICKS
I tried to student-rush OUR TOWN on Friday night, but it was entirely sold-out. I was put on a waiting-list, but come show-time, there was nothing being offered. I will try again because it sounds too good to miss.
I am definitely grabbing tickets to THE AMISH PROJECT this coming-week. Rattlestick always rattles my nerves, such great unique shows.
