Sorry to double post, but I just wanted to say thanks for all the info. We had a great time! And we managed to catch the last bus back to the Pentagon metro.
My favorite thing part of the show was the staging. The second the flag dropped....I was so confused...and then fascinated. It was a very engaging setup. My only teeny complaint, though, is that sometimes the noise generated by the actors moving around made it hard to hear the lyrics, particularly during some of the solos.
I particulalry liked the actor playing Lee Harvey Oswald (program is at home). During a show I often prefer to watch the actors responding to the character speaking (rather than watching the main action). And as Oswald's principal role for the first half is to watch a react, my attention was largely focused on him. He was very engaged and tuned in at all times.
One question: why were some of the gunshots recorded, and some done with blanks? I've never seen the show before, so I'm trying to figure out if this was the result of the director's choice or if the directions are in the script.
