Just got back--not really wanting to write a full blown out review--but I'll say a few things about tonight...mainly little things.
(POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW)
Norbert got *NO* entrance applause. I...was shocked. I have no idea why I didn't clap--I was just so...shocked, I guess?
Norbert's performance was amazing today--he seriously was giving it his all. He really did a fabulous job with all of his songs and scenes. Not too much was different. Norbert was *extra* crude today. He...turned Tom over and and humped him in the Ruprecht scene after humping him...on top of him. Hopefully you understand that. I would use other words to help describe it...but I'm afraid they'd be inappropriate for BWW :-P. Something that made me laugh really hard (because I'm immature) was when Tom pushes Norbert in the wheelchair and Norbert rolls offstage saying, "GOODNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT" and it instead of it being followed by it's usual shreek, or whatever it usually is, there was a little fart noise. Norbert..is so immature. I love it
Norbert was about to cry when he was saying goodbye to Tom in the last scene. Anything else?...oh, Laura Marie kissed him for a good...5 seconds or so at the end of the finale.
The curtain call came, and I forgot who it was that walked out...the man was already crying when he came out. He mentioned Norbert's replacement, and went on to talk about Norbert. It was very nice. I noticed that when the scrim came down, Norbert's replacement followed him offstage with his phone, I'm guessing recording him.
It was a GREAT show. The audience wasn't really getting into it until close to the end. They LOVED All About Ruprecht and Love is My Legs. The audience absolutely LOVED the twist in the plot at the end. Lots of applauding. I was grinning at that point--it was such an awesome feeling in the audience. After Dirty Rotten Number, everytime the applause would die down, it would pick right back up for about a minute. It was an incredible evening--and I wish Norbert luck in whatever he does next. I hope he enjoys his time off from working in the theater and recovers quickly so we can see him again soon on Broadway!

I saw the show as well, and I'd have to disagree a little with Parks about the audience not getting into it until the end
I felt the audience reaction was really strong.
As Parks noted, Norbert was *very* enthusiastic during the "Ruprecht" scene - wrapping the red furry blanket over his head...pouncing up and down on Tom in a (humping fashion) *way* more than usual - and not in the way it's usually done!...stomping up to "Jolene" and giving her an extended "Oh no you didn't!" hand gesture...he was hilarious.
I noticed in the scene when Jolene runs out of town, Norbert was completely soaked in his glass of wine. Either I missed something and he spilled it when the set moved out, or perhaps Tom threw it on him as a "last show" kind of joke? I don't know - but he spent the whole scene wiping himself down, and he totally looked like he we his pants.
He choked up during the "Dirty Rotten" number, and the producer who came out at curtain call gave him a *lovely* speech. He mentioned how about half the role was written, and the other half that you see is what Norbert created, etc.
I must also mention that I overheard SOOOOO many people asking ushers if it was Norbert's last show (they didn't know his name, they would say "the main guy")....and I had such a good time listening in on people commenting about him during intermission and after the show. He's impressing a LOT of people........

Oh yeah--I forgot all about that. I noticed that he was wet before he stood up. My friend and I looked at eachother when we both noticed it...lol. We felt a little embarassed for him.
Becky, we seem to feel very different about audiences :-P.

Nope. That's it for him and DRS. I am sad to see him go but he did just an amazing job at every venue. As for his future plans, look for him next on screen in "Dan in Real Life" with Dane Cook and Steve Carrell (edit: my bad, Liz!). Thanks for the reviews, guys!
