Sorry. I just had to bump this thread and spread the love for this amazing actor.
I really hope (but doubt) he'll be playing Paul on the national tour.

Could someone tell me why he is leaving ACL? I don't think he was one of those whose contract wasn't renewed or his last day would have been last weekend, I believe. It's hard to keep up!

I have to agree with those who say he's a wonderful dancer. I saw the show last Friday night and watched both Jason and Kevin Worley. Kevin is also a great dancer.
When I was watching Yuka Takara, her movements were a lot more balletic during the opeing audition sequence than everyone else. Was that a conscious directorial choice? It was a little distracting as it wasn't like everyone else who was dancing.

He had my whole family (father, mother, sister and grandmother) in tears and was a stand out for them. As its been said before, his acting, singing and dancing was tremendous. Having seen ACL for the first time ever this past July, I was heartbroken at his character's problem and subsequent drop out.
Happy...Everything!

I first saw ACL in 1976 and Sammy Williams had me in tears. No, I wasn't (and am still not) a dancer, but Paul's story about his parents really hit a nerve. I've seen many productions since that and have never been similarly moved, until...
I saw Jason perform last week and just fell apart. So if you were wondering who that middle-aged queer up in the balcony with tears streaming down his face during Paul's monologue (and long after), it was me.

I will be there as well. I can't wait to see it again, but I am sad to see him go.

If you see that first picture of him on friendster, god you can tell he can dance. Seriously. I'd kill to be able to do that. *bashes mother for allowing me to quit dance without a second thought*

What does that have anything to do with Jason Tam?

Hence why he was cast in a musical.

Unfortunately due to a sudden last minute change of plans, I will not be seeing Jason's last show today.
I am so sad. I might cry. To anyone who is going, please enjoy the show and post thoughts. I am sure his monologue is going to be extremely emotional tonight.
