I got to the theatre at 1pm ish and had to wait over 2 hours and when I got to the BO, they only had singles left for one day only and the people behind me weren't able to get tix at all, after waiting for hours. Ugh. I wish I had stayed home!

Ah, this thread brings back memories! 'Anything Goes for 10 Bucks' were the exact words that greeted me upon my first visit to Times Square back in the early 90's!!

Joe, I remember you!! My prices were higher in the early 00's, but they've dropped again, like my ass.

You didn't HAVE to wait for hours. No one forced you to get in line or stay. If you got there an hour after the sale started, saw a line that was still pretty gigantic and moving very slow, and still volunteered to wait, it's your own fault.

I got there just a few minutes before noon and bought my tickets at 2:30.

Were they only doing this today?

It started today and was going until the $10 seats sold out. From the sound of it, they sold out pretty fast.

My friend and I got there very early and were the second and third people on the line. Got our tickets for the first preview and were out of there by 12:04pm. Looking forward to seeing the show in a few weeks!

Random question...how come the Anything Goes Logo Artwork is next to the Broadwayworld.com Artwork on this website...has the show OPENED YET????? I thought they usually post the logo of the show indicating it's opening night!!!

That is a FLAT OUT LIE, you ass.

I got there at 5:50 pm, ten min. before the box office closing, and I had the option of getting a PAIR of tickets to either the first or the second preview. And three people in front of me got the tix as well.

Were you born retarded, or does the computer screen do that to you?

Grammatical question slightly related to this thread: When you are waiting in a line, is it correct grammatically to say " I was on line"? It sounds so wrong. Every time I'm in Duane Reade, though, the cashier calls up the "Next on line." Is this new? Did I miss this becoming okay? So many people here say it and it hurts my ears. It sounds like you were waiting to purchase tickets on the internet when you say you were "on line." I'm not trying to be condescending, I'm just wondering if that is okay and I should stop judging people for saying it. Thanks!

"In line" is strictly an American saying. Most other English speaking countries say "on line".

Thank you for clearing that up. I think I'll probably still cringe when I hear people say it, at least when I'm in America.

Wish the line moved a little faster, but still a great deal.

I actually thought "on line" was a New York/New Jersey thing.

Well I know it extends passed the US. My Scottish and English friends tend to use it a lot. Updated On: 2/14/11 at 10:06 PM

I'm just glad to know that I'll be able to avoid it whenever I make it back down south. Thank you for allowing me to threadjack to clear that up!
