Just caught this on Apple and I highly recommend! The script is clunky at times, and I know it went through post-production hell (it was a Scott Rudin project). But the acting is excellent across the board.
Jennifer Lawrence stars as an army vet grappling with the lasting effects of a serious brain injury as she re-adjusts to civilian life in New Orleans. She’s superb in a detailed, un-showy performance.
Cast includes a murderer’s row of theatre character actors: Brian Tyree Henry (an awards-worthy role if this release had a higher profile), Linda Emond, Jayne Houdyshell, Russell Harvard, and Frederick Weller.
Been reading and hearing a ton of buzz on it - and watched it after the Will Ferell Christmas Movie with Ryan (totally loved it)
Causeway was really good. Brian Tyler Henry should get a SAG and Oscar Nom for this. Jenifer Lawrence is giving a hell of a performance as well.
wish there was more of Jayne tho
worth a watch - it's really good
A very worthy nomination for the always-great Brian Tyree Henry at the Oscars this morning!
Worth a watch for those who haven't seen it.
