She was more than an icon. A true symbol and powerful influence of American musical culture and history. (I must admit I find it fascinating that the Queen of Soul and the King of Rock and Roll passed away on the same day 41 years apart: August 16.)
May she rest in peace, knowing her legacy will live for many, many generations to come.
