What do you guys think? Her character on the show "Victorious" shares a lot of the same traits that Galinda has, with the innocence and the "Bubbliness" and such. She may be a bit young, but I think she could pull it off. She has one heck of a voice.
Miranda Cosgrove as Elphaba? Hannah Montana's 35 year old brother as Dr. Dillamond? One Direction as the flying monkeys?

Shut up.
You're right that she is WAY too young. She's not well-known enough. She has an okay voice, but not the right type of voice.
Don't you worry. They'll cast a decent Glinda.
Can you find me a song where, to sing a C6 or High C, she does not imitate Mariah Carey with that whistle register? The same note that Glinda ends the first song singing?
Ariana is a talented YOUNG lady, but this is one of the dumbest post headlines I've ever read.
Shes a belter and would make a better Elphaba

I thought Glinda now ends the first song with an E6, not a C6. Although I don't think singing C6 in whistle is a bad thing as long as the note has some body to it.
The E6 is not the official ending, just optional. Many Glindas just do it to do it, like Hilty and Mauzey.

Love her to death, but no. What about Spongebob?

I agree that she would make a better Elphaba. She reminds me of a younger Christina Aguilera.
I'm bad at math,
explain E6 and C6, an E note taken to the 6th relm?
E in the key of 6?
Merman would have had a ball with this.
Hit the damn note on the pianer!
I don't understand this thread. It reads like a little girl nobody has ever heard of is playing Battleship.

It's just a system of labeling notes that's based on the octaves of a grand piano. Its fancy name is scientific pitch notation, and all American musicians would be privy to it. Don't worry about the math. There's little math involved other than the numbers used to label the notes.
Everyone is familiar with standard alphabetical pitch notation (A, B, C, D, E, F, G). Now, let's think of the note 'C' as a “home” note. The lowest C on a grand piano is labeled C1, the one above that is called C2, and so on and so forth.
The notes in between two Cs are pinned with the number of the preceding C. It goes like this: C1, D1, E1, etc. So, for example, the note labeled A in between a C1 and a C2 is called A1.
To your question specifically: C6, also called soprano C, is a really high note that's a part of a soprano's toolbox. E6 would be the really high note above that (C, C-sharp, D, D-sharp,E).
To hear them in action and in relation to each other when performed by the human voice, you could listen to the final passage--the final bits of music--of the song “The Phantom of the Opera.” You know, the part that's prerecorded. In it, you'll hear Christine sustain three C6s (the aforementioned soprano C) followed at the very end by an E6.

Oh Jordan, true story, this board would be NOWHERE near as entertaining without your presence.

I like Ariana's voice, but, as other's have said, it's not the right kind for Glinda. She is more of a mezzo/alto than a true soprano. Plus, I don't really know how good of an actress she is. Victorious doesn't exactly show off anyone's dramatic abilities, and I think you need a really subtle actress to be able to make Glinda great. It is kind of funny that almost half the cast of that show has been on Broadway, though.
I don't usually participate in the WICKUD fangirl dream casting, but I have an idea, so back off.
Sara Bareilles is, in my opinion, one of the most talented, range-y singers out there right now. I submit her as my dream Elphaba. She isn't exactly A-List (although she should be) but she's had a few hits. I know that she did theatre growing up and I think her voice would really lend itself well to musical theatre and the style of this show.
Plus the girl can belt and riff her tits off.
Here's "Come Round Soon" in which she belts and sustains an F5 and riffs off of it like an absolute boss (2:19): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4eaz_GzyTI
Also, she's got low notes out the wazoo.
Here's "City" in which she rocks a D3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdGTjzyHSTA
All in all, I'm obsessed with her. She's got crazy range, she's totally cool and normal in person and I think she'd easily make a great Elphaba.
Fin.
And she already has a lovely song about gravity in her wheelhouse
I thought about it, and she would make a way better Elphaba if anything. Here is a link to what she would look like:
Ariana is Greenified
Just watched one of her videos. She's not bad, but I don't think she's right for Elphaba either.
Just found a video of her singing The Wizard and I.
