Posted: 4/7/13 at 8:38pmSo far, I have tickets for: Chicago on Fri. June 7th, Ann on Sat. June 8 2pm and Vanya-Sonya-Masha and Spike 8 pm. I was planning on getting a ticket for "Pippin" on Sunday, June 9th. To my extreme consternation, apparently tickets are not available for "Pippin" on Sunday, June 9th at 3 p.m....according to the Telecharge operator I spoke to. Grrrrrrrr. I'm very sad now. If that is the case, I either have to miss "Pippin" or get a ticket for that show on Sat. June 8th and eat the ticket for VSMS. Oh phooey! from RC in Austin, Texas

That would be because it is TONY Sunday! Most Musicals that are in contention are Dark that day--but plays often run a Matinee.

Posted: 4/7/13 at 8:51pmOnce you're in the city, switch shows with the one that has a matinee on Sunday. Probably ,Chicago. I've switched tickets more than once. Never been turned down. Doesn't hurt to ask at the box office.

Posted: 4/7/13 at 8:53pmWell, I learned something new then. I really, really want to see "Pippin", so I may sell my ticket to Vanya, get a Pippin ticket for Sat. June 8 and find a show for Sun. June 9th. I did see that Cinderella is having a 2 p.m. show on that date. It's either Cinderella or another "Chicago" (which I wouldn't mind, by the way). I'll have to think about it. from RC in Austin, Texas

Posted: 4/7/13 at 9:06pmyou could try switching your Chicago ticket to Sunday and see Pippin on friday, so you are still seeing the shows you'd like

Posted: 4/7/13 at 9:13pmFalling... I may do that. "Chicago" has one show on Sunday, June 9th at 3 p.m. That would give me enough time to watch the Tony Awards...somewhere. from RC in Austin, Texas

Posted: 4/7/13 at 9:15pmGee, I wished I thought of that! Btw, when I went on telecharge, they have two shows on Sunday.
#9As Tyrion Lannister Said:
Posted: 4/7/13 at 9:59pmYou are absolutely right ArtMan. Do I have to wait until I get to NYC to switch the tickets or could I try it with Telecharge over the phone? I guess it's worth a shot. Roman

Posted: 4/7/13 at 10:53pmI would do it with the box office, not telecharge. In person, tell them you accidentally scheduled wrong dates for the show and can you switch it to Sunday. You may not have as great a seat as your original purchase, but at least you will then be able to see Pippen. If it is a single seat, then it is even easier for them. Tell them you are from out of town and this is the only opportunity you will have to see the show.

Posted: 4/7/13 at 11:08pmI also wouldn't wait to buy your Pippen ticket, since its Tony Week. It's a gamble. But if you are polite and non-demanding, I am confident they will change it for you. Also, don't wait till Sunday to go to Chicago box office. Do it when you arrive. I will be there Tony week also. Good luck.

Posted: 4/8/13 at 7:03amI wouldn't wait till you get there. Call telecharge now. They have always switched tickets for me. I'd rather have everything settled before I go than take the chance when I get there (but maybe that's just me). And I have always found the people on the phone to be (generally) nicer than the box office people. Anyway, you have nothing to lose by calling now and maybe you can get it all resolved. Good luck!

Posted: 4/8/13 at 8:54amYou're right. It doesn't hurt to try Telecharge first. But I have always found the opposite. The box office staff more accommodating. But if memory serves me, I have dealt more with Ticketmaster than Telecharge. Also since, Pippin and Chicago are both Telecharge events, it doesn't hurt to try.

Posted: 4/8/13 at 8:58amSo I guess the whole "non-refundable" thing when you buy tickets is just a blatant lie?

Posted: 4/8/13 at 11:05amIf you bought your tickets at telecharge most theatres have a point of purchase exchange ploicy. They will tell you at the box office to contact telecharge. Just had this happen with Lion King tickets I had bought someone as a gift.

Posted: 4/8/13 at 7:32pmI had a chance to speak with a Telecharge operator. He was very nice and extremely patient. I explained the situation. Basically, I ordered a ticket for the Sunday, June 9th perf of "Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike". I gave him the order #, so I could get a refund on my original ticket for V.S.M.S. I sent back the original ticket via Priority Mail. Now, my final ticket is for "Pippin." It's too bad the discount codes only count until May 12th. So, I have to decide whether to pay full price for an orchestra/mezzanine seat or wait until I can get a discounted ticket. The full price covers even most of the mezzanine. There are a handful of mezzanine seats at a very reasonable rate. I wouldn't mind having a good orchestra seat (if anything...the better to see Orion Griffith's thighs. Someone mentioned they were extraordinary.) I should make a decision fairly soon. P.S. I wouldn't mind getting together with a handful of people to watch the Tonys on tv. from RC in Austin, Texas

Well, I didn't want to wait until the Pippin discounts covered the date of my trip. So, I went ahead and ordered a ticket for Sat. June 8th 8pm. It was more than I wanted to pay, but I was afraid that if I waited too long, then I wouldn't get a good seat. Final list of shows:
Fri. June 7th: Chicago 8pm
Sat. June 8th: Ann 2pm, Pippin 8pm
Sun. June 9th: Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike 2 pm
After that show, I hope to find a place in Times Square that will be showing the Tonys. I can't wait. from RC in Austin, Texas
