I'm auditioning for the role of Officer Lockstock (yeah, just that role it's weird... whatever) and I need a song in the vain of stuff he sings. Thoughts?

Anything with a strong baritone.
How about one of Javert's songs from Les Miz, or Gaston or the Beast from Beauty and the Beast.

I auditioned specifically for that role when they were looking for replacements in the (flop) Chicago production (which ironically closed about threee weeks after my audition...and a few months after that the director got sued by John Rando as you may have heard). I sang "C'est Moi" from Camelot, and also brought along the "Better hope your pennies..." bit in case they wanted to hear it (you can find it on MusicNotes.com I believe).

If Lockstock is the role you want, make sure to say, "Hi, my name is so and so and I'm auditioning for the role of Officer Lockstock." There's nothing wrong with that. If you are open to other roles as well, make sure to mention that too.

No, basically the reason you didn't get cast is because you don't have any talent...

Don't lecture others on how to audition.
