I read this two times after it was printed...it's such a terrific interview! Couldn't agree more about the great insight it provides on her talent and body of work!

Jesse Green, who is my favorite reviewer, did a great job on this. I also enjoyed the piece he did that followed this one, 28 reasons why Broadway is in a new golden age.

Nevermind, did some investigating of my own (google) and found it. Love this writer...I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for more things he writes! :)

That is a gorgeous article. I'm also so glad that Lady Day has been filmed by HBO. In the theatre, it was easily one of the best performances I've ever seen, but I was worried that it wouldn't translate well to film. However, I just watched the extended clip of God Bless the Child and was once again blown away by her work in this role. It's masterful acting and singing.

I couldn't find a separate thread on "Lady Day At Emerson's Bar And Grill" so I grabbed this one to rave about you know who.

My husband and I had unbelievable tix and the Theatre Gods were not shining on me. I had to have emergency surgery and wasn't able to attend. Hubby raved; I finally got to see the HBO adaptation this week and Audra blew my mind yet again!!! It's time for the Emmy Award! I even just YouTubed the Tonys with the "Carousel" revival. Brilliant!

Can't wait to see "Shuffle"; we need to line up our schedules and performances and make sure Audra will be in it. "God Bless This Child"!!!
