Audra & Will Swenson in 110 in the Shade...at a community theatre

That's a really nice thing they are both doing. Seems like they get along quite well too. I didn't realize Swenson was in 110 IN THE SHADE and I even saw the show, oh well, I'm sure he'll make a wonderful lead in the show, he's all kinds of brilliant.

I think he was an understudy when it was on Bway...

According to ibdb.com he played Cody (no idea what character that is) and understudied Kazee. I'd have loved to see him go on as Starbuck as I wasn't a big fan of Kazee.

Is this even possible?? If so, I am so there. I've never been to Utah, but it is pretty close to me here in Vegas.

Something about this sounds really sketchy to me...
Isn't it against equity rules to do community theatre? I don't know about this....

They aren't allowed to be paid for it. They have to do it for free.

It's true and I'm so excited about it! I'm about 10 minutes away.

An Equity member, from my understanding, is allowed to do a community theatre show if they write into Equity and get permission from AEA to do the show voluntarily. Otherwise, the community theatre would have to offer them equity contracts.
We have a half professional/half community theatre here in Cleveland that offers a couple equity contracts depending on the show. It's a good experience for those who there for the educational environment. Maybe that's why they brought them in?

I think there's a little extra "sumpin' sumpin'" that persuaded Audra to play that particular theater...

I'm a Utah local too, and thrilled at the chance to see Audra and Will in such an intimate venue. There are 2 Hale Centre Theatres - this is the smaller of the two. The Hales are a Utah institution in and of themselves, but to bring in 2 such phenomenal talents is almost beyond belief. You can bet the chance to work with them will bring the most incredible talent in the state out to audition for the production as well.

WHat are you gonna do there for a year and a few months?
That article is cute about why Audra is hanging out with Will's family.

My god, I would so kill to see this happen at the community theatre near my house. Even if it's a Broadway star I don't care for.

And by "getting along quite well" you mean a serious couple than you are right. I guess they're planning on staying together for at least the next year since this is summer of 2010.

She quietly divorced. And now it seems is ready to roll out her relationship with Will.

Sounds like shades of Whoopi Goldberg and Frank Langella to me. Draw your own conclusions, 'cuz I'm not touching that hot potato.
