August Osage, Shrek, Hair or Boeing Boeing?

We're coming back to NY in April and already seeing West Side Story, Billy Elliot and Blithe Spirit (if those tickets ever go on sale). We have room for one more show. We're having trouble deciding between August Osage County, Shrek, Hair and Boeing, Boeing. Any advice? Thanks!

I would pick August, plays like that only come around once every ten years or so.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Well, it depends on who "we" is. If it includes kids or even young teens I would say no to August because I really don't think it's kid or young teen (at least) friendly. (I personally didn't get the big deal about it, but hey, I get that different people like different things and a lot of people seem to like this one a lot.)

My personal preference would be Shrek because I find it charming and a lot of fun. And honestly the others are not really things on my "need to see" list. (Already saw August and really have no desire to see the other two.)

Another vote for AUGUST:OSAGE COUNTY. Second choice would be HAIR.

I wouldn't bet on either of the other two being around in April (for that matter, the way things are going, you can't count on much these days) but I would avoid BOEING-BOEING (an expensive way to watch an inferior TV sitcom) and SHREK has only modest entertainment value (though to be fair, it still has a lot of previews before its official opening, so it may improve).

Judging from the shows you've already picked, I'd say you for sure have an amazing line-up. I would vote "August," but I'm also absolutely in love with "Boeing-Boeing" and I feel like it goes unappreciated. So I'm going to vote "Boeing-Boeing."

But, like the last poster said, who knows what will be open.

Thanks so much for all the input! It'll just be hubby and I, so we'll have to sit down and figure it out. re: August Osage, Shrek, Hair or Boeing Boeing? If anyone reads this again...sorry to ask a seat question....I looked for tickets to August and it showed two tickets on the front row. Is that too close to the show? or, is the stage to high for front row tickets? Thanks for any input. Lindy

Yes, it's too close. In my opinion. Either sit further back in the Orch or try for the closest Mezz seats you can get. Best seats are in the Mezz.
