August seating question#1
Posted: 1/1/08 at 1:17pm
If my memory serves me, there was an issue with the rear mezzanine seats and not being able to see the upper portion of the sets?
(I know there was a thread dealing with this, but I can't seem to find it...)
Should I be avoiding the rear mezz if at all possible, or are the seats just as good as anywhere else? Are there any particular sections that I should avoid?
Thanks in advance!

There's no problem with the rear mezzanine. I sat there when I saw the show...
I think the problem lies with the Rear Orchestra bec of the overhang- you wont be able to see the 3rd level of the house...

I second jaystarr. There is no problem with rear mezz for view. I sat there and loved it! It's the rear orchestra that has a problem because of the mezz overhang.
The cheap rear mezz tickets to August are probably one of the best deals going on Broadway right now.
LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!

Posted: 1/1/08 at 2:54pmThe rear mezzanine provides an excellent view for this show given the size of the set, especially the height.

Posted: 1/1/08 at 9:00pmThanks thibodeaux, but I'd rather just see the show and not spend a fortune for a ticket. Plus, in looking at the set, I think I'd prefer the mezzanine.
re: August seating question#8
Posted: 1/1/08 at 9:13pmI sat in the front mezz and the seats were perfect. I highly recommend the mezz for this show.
re: August seating question#9
Posted: 1/2/08 at 3:05amI managed to get rear mezz tickets ($26.50), Row A, seats 4 and 5, for tonight's show about an hour and a half before the performance, and had a great view. It really is one of the best deals on broadway.

I will back up all these people and say the Mezz is great. You can see and hear everything. I was more on the side though so at one point I missed a tad of it in the dinning room. Other than that you will not miss anything.
So...go see it!
I also got tickets the day of.

I sat in row L seat 2
I thought this was a great seat.
re: August seating question#13
Posted: 1/2/08 at 12:35pmI sat in row M, right, 3 seats off the aisle and had a perfect view. While I was there, I went and sat in the last four rows of the orchestra during intermissions and after the show. You can't see the top of the seat from these seats and they were actually all empty the day I went. Not sure if they are just not selling them but nobody was sitting in them.
re: August seating question#14
Posted: 1/2/08 at 12:41pmMaybe I'm just short. The Imperial orchestra isn't raked correctly, so it's hard for me to see in the orch seats.
re: August seating question#15
Posted: 1/2/08 at 12:46pmMy friend saw it from 2nd row center and said it was actually a bit too close. Especially for the scenes on the top floor.
